Weekly Instagram/Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr Roundup.

I meant to post this on Friday and forgot – this is what the kittens look like at 10 weeks old!

Peekaboo! Pinochle is such a stringbean right now – they’ve hit their long and lanky stage. (He gained 6 ounces this week and weighs nearly 3 pounds. He’s not starving.)

Run! Run! They get very excited when the door to the rest of the upstairs is open and they can race in and out! (Canasta’s not in her onesie because I was giving her a break – which I do several times a day, as long as I’m keeping an eye on her.)

Julie (left) and Hensley went back to their foster mom this morning. I’ll miss having them snuggling up next to me at night – but Charlie will be glad to have middle-of-the-night access to me again! ❤️

While all the other kittens (and Canasta) napped, Whist and Uno decided it was time to tussle (well, and Uno needed to chase her tail for a bit also.)

(Permanent residents) Jake, Newt and Archie are sitting around looking disgruntled for reasons known only to themselves.

Happy Mother’s Day, Canasta. ❤️

Good night innernets. (Pinochle)

I love the way wearing this onesie makes Canasta look like she has an ultra-long neck. One week into wearing the onesie (with frequent breaks), things are going well. Her milk sacs are much smaller, the kittens have adapted to the fact that there’s no more milk bar, and she’s gained a little weight. One more week, and she’ll be headed home!

Rummy and Slapjack are keeping Mama company in the puffy bed (and in the next moment she stomped off for some alone time!)

The kittens are checking out the ham-mick, which I finally remembered to get out for them! Also, bonus purring from Fizzbin.

Oh, that Whist. Isn’t she the PRETTIEST?

Uncle Charlie wouldn’t mind being friends, but I’m not sure the kittens are up for friendship yet. They certainly are curious about him, though!

(Permanent resident) Alice Mo loves to snooze in that bed when Archie isn’t occupying it.

Good night innernets. ❤️ (Whist and Pinochle)

Queen Canasta is tired of my nonsense.

Former foster alert! Here we have sweet Gladstone (he was Mr. Stripey of the ‘Maters litter back in 2012 (!)), who just turned NINE. (I swear to you, it seems like just yesterday that he and his brothers were running their poor mother – Brandywine – ragged. They were wild things!) Happy (belated) birthday, sweet boy! (Thanks, Kathy!)

Charlie’s in the kitten room, getting the ol’ snifferoo from Canasta, and realizing that – hey! Lookit that! There’s a bowl of kitten food in here! What a surprise!

SMILE! (Slapjack)

Uno knocked a cup onto the floor, and it became the MOST fascinating toy ever, apparently.

Earl the Skwerl is driving (permanent resident) Charlie CRAZYYZEEE.

Good night innernets. (Rummy, and Whist (I think) behind her.)

Looks like we’re having 6-kitten pie for breakfast!

“LADY. This is not the proper glass for serving Rummy. Get it together!”

Where oh where could the kittens be?!

An up-close shot of Whist’s nose. She had a pink nose when she was born, then she got a little freckle, and then it spread. Now her nose is all dark except for that one little piece.

Meet the kittens (again)! I did a “meet the kittens” video when they were 3 weeks old – it’s time to “meet” them again (they’re 10 1/2 weeks now.) This time with bonus Canasta!

The cat houses in the back yard were getting pretty rough looking, so Fred painted them. (Permanent resident) Jake refused to go into his favorite house for several days, causing Fred to fret (as he does), but finally Jake returned. Now I think this house needs a sign over the door. Maybe “The Loon is in”?

Slapjack’s been admiring (permanent resident) Uncle Charlie. “He’s fabulous!”

Good night innernets. (From Fizzbin, who’s asleep at the wheel.)

Whist can’t BELIEVE she was outbid on those cat toys!

It’s #Thlurrrpsday, and if you would, please admire Pinochle’s form.

Tossing toys for the kittens. I’d say Slapjack has his mama’s moves – though he can’t leap quite as high as she does just yet.

Throw back Thursday: Back in 2014 we fostered this tiny little housepanther named Tricki. She was a scaredy cat, but when she warmed up, she was the sweetest, goofiest girl ever. Oh, how I loved her.❤️

Racing up and down the hall is fun! fun! fun! (With bonus Charlie! No kittens were harmed in the making of this video.)

I mean, what else are you going to use an antique washstand for? (Permanent resident) Khal on top, (permanent resident) Newt below.

“Watching you, lady. Watching. YOU.” (Uno)

Good night innernets, from the most ridiculous kittens ever.

The kittens are 11 weeks old today and this is what they look like now!

We have adoptions pending on Uno (without a sibling – joining a home with a playful kitty in residence), Fizzbin (without a sibling – kitties in residence already), and Rummy and Slapjack together. Pinochle and Whist are still available, and you can email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info@ffhsv.org to inquire about them. They (as well as their siblings) are scheduled for their spay/neuter surgeries on May 25th, and would be available to head home a few days after that.

A lot of people have asked who Da BAYbee is of this litter, and I gotta say: I have NO idea. None of them are particularly talkative, though I wonder if that’ll change once Canasta leaves and isn’t here to do all their talking for them.

All six kittens! Upper level, left to right: Slapjack, Rummy, Whist and Fizzbin. Lower level: Pinochle and Uno. Want to know how I got this awesome shot? You’re in luck – I made a video of it, and it’ll post in a couple of hours.

How to get an awesome kitten picture:
Step one: have an awesome cat tree.
Step two: walk into the room and find all the kittens on the cat tree.
Step three: Start the ceiling fan pull swinging back and forth.
Step four: take a ton of pictures.

Pinochle (left) and Whist are still available for adoption. Email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info@ffhsv.org to inquire!

They’re feeling wild today!

(Permanent resident) Archie sitting in a box with one ear folded back. As you do.

Fizzbin’s all “What? I shouldn’t knock this lamp over? But whyyy?”

Good night innernets. (Slapjack)

The person who was going to adopt Uno decided that driving down here to adopt her wasn’t a wise decision for them, which means that Uno, Pinochle and Whist are all still available. Email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire about one, two, or all three!

Rummy is countin’ her money and makin’ her bids!

Fizzbin keeps an eye on her bids.

Whist keeps an eye on her bids.

Good night innernets. (Whist)
