Chanterelle – who is adoption pending! – has gone to another foster.

Chanterelle pie – my favorite!

Did I mention that she’s a cutie?
So she’ll go for her spay today, and then I assume she’ll head home soonish. She’ll have a kitty companion, and she’s going locally. I had hoped she’d be adoption pending quickly, so this is very good news!

The foster room, however, is NOT empty. I actually traded Chanterelle for…

The Dumpling Gang! They’re 2 months old and VERY cute.
Say hello to…

Pierogi, orange and white boy.
Pierogi, Wonton and Momos are siblings, with a date of birth of February 26, 2026.
And then we have…

Khinkali, tortie and white girl.

Tortellini, gray and white girl.
Khinkali, Tortellini and Bao are siblings, with a date of birth of February 22, 2026.
Their story is that they were born to two mothers (sisters? Maybe!) and were in a warehouse and about to get tossed on the street when Forgotten Felines agreed to take them. They’ve been with another foster since they were a few days old. One of the mothers is very feral and was spayed and released after the kittens were weaned. The other mother is friendly and still with the other foster.
These guys are a bit more than 2 months old, and scheduled for their spay/neuters on June 2nd. So they’re not here for a long time, but they’re here for a good time!

Bao climbing, Wonton being suspicious, and Momos (bottom of the cat tree) considering her next step.

Tortellini mid-leap from the back of the couch to the scratcher, Khinkali (left) chasing Bao.

Wonton in mid hop, Pierogi (in the basket) and Bao playing slappy paws.

Wonton in mid hop again, Pierogi (in the basket) and Bao still playing slappy paws.
Bao was friendly right off the bat and greets me at the door; the others have been a bit more suspicious, but they’re coming around. I don’t imagine it’ll be too long before I have a lap full of kittens!

Milo and Khal have a cuddle (Khal’s like “I didn’t sign up for this.”)

Three of the four – Magoo in the left recliner, Khal in the bed on the floor between the two recliners, and Charlie on the little couch. (Milo was at my feet.)
I’d say that Milo and Magoo are settling in, but they’ve pretty much been settled in for a while now. They’re getting unsupervised time in the back yard now (though we both check on them very frequently) and it’s going well. I will hopefully get their adoption paperwork done this week!

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky/Threads) this weekend.

Rabbit rabbit rabbit. (Chanterelle) Wikipedia: “Rabbit rabbit rabbit” – a superstition in Britain & North America wherein a person says/repeats the words “rabbit”, “rabbits” and/or “white rabbits” aloud upon waking on the 1st day of a month, ensuring good luck for the rest of it.

🎉 Former foster Branwen (formerly Juniper) is 10 years old! Tamra reports that Branwen is “still very kitten-like. She loves her teaser toys.” Happy belated birthday Branwen! (Thanks, Tamra!)

Permanent resident Milo (who is former foster Rum) has a purrrr.

Milo says “Time to get yer dangle on!”

Chanterelle pie! (My favorite!)

Good night innernets. (Chanterelle)

Milo (formerly Rum) would like to know just where his sunshine is. It’s been dreary and rainy and overcast for dayyyys and he’s OVER it.

Chanterelle is not nearly as big as she looks, it’s all floof! She weighs just 7 1/2 pounds (3.40KG) and it’s the perfect weight for her.

It’s a Rumdangle (featuring Milo!) from the side, with added attitude. “You again, lady?”

Magoo (formerly Reverb) is all “Takin’ a nap here, lady.”

Chanterelle is all “Hi!” Doesn’t she have the most delightful multi-colored beans?

Good night innernets. (Magoo (formerly Reverb) and Milo (Rum))

Sunshine and a self-heating pad makes Milo happy.

Neighborhood menace/freeloader Rocco has gained a personal escort for his stroll through the house every morning. I’m not sure he cares for it, but Milo (formerly Rum) is having a blast!

Milo presents: your daily Rumdangle.

Magoo shows off his whiskers and fangs, while Milo flees the interview.

Chanterelle just does NOT take a bad picture. (Also, she’s adoption pending!)

Kittens! I love a variety pack!
I’m so happy that Chanterelle is off to her new home, and I love the video of Milo escorting Rocco. That made my day!
Those Dumplings look like they just arrived at Disneyland! So much to see and do!
I watched the Rocco vid and loved it! Milo is such a good kitten!
What cute lil Dumplings!! And isn’t this the kitten age Fred enjoys? I can’t wait to hear the nicknames!!
Imagine my shock to learn that an absolutely gorgeous floofball who wants to be a lapcat went adoption pending quickly. Happy life, sweet girl.
A variety pack of bouncing babies! The Dumplings are adorable.
Mile and Magoo look like they’ve been there all their lives.
Hooray for a family for Chanterelle!
Welcome, darling little Dumplings!
That picture of Magoo (whiskers and fangs on the table) looks like: I’se a Permie now? Kitteh boy gets to stay? You’s keepin’ me? My eyes leakin’ from the happy!!
Absolutely love your interpretation of what sweet Magoo’s face is saying – so touching and I suspect so true of this lovely, gentle unassuming boy. xx
Do you have any information on the window hammock that Khal and Milo are sitting in in that picture? It looks more heavy duty which would be needed for one of our kitties!
Love Chanterelle, she is absolute cat perfection! So glad she found a home so soon and maybe we’ll get updates ::fingers crossed::
And yay for kittens, they will have so much fun while they’re with you! They’re at the absolute funnest stage, always on the go as your pictures so perfectly capture!
I got it at Amazon – here – a couple of years ago, and it holds up REALLY well! At least a couple of times I’ve seen Khal and Charlie in it together, which would be about 36 pounds combined, and it doesn’t creak or sag. Highly recommend!
Thank you, sounds very heavy duty, headed to Amazon now.
You get the greatest action shots! I love seeing your kittens in mid air!
What wonderful happy news to wake up to this morning – a forever home for adorable Chanterelle and a whole squad of little kittens arrived at the Love & Hisses finishing school for fur babies! I am certain that appearing on L&H speeded up the process of Chanterelle winning the hearts of her new family, and am equally sure that that the Dumplings’ journeys to loving homes will be all the shorter because your delightful posts will lead us all to fall in love with them in double quick time. May the coming weeks be full of joy for you and them!
Please refresh my memory. Who spent the least time with you before adoption? Is Chanterelle the winner or did someone else find their forever home even faster?
And I love the new group. Especially a six pack with no repeat flavors!
Wow, the foster room is going to be hopping, with this 6-pack*!
Chanterelle is certainly a stunner – her patchwork is amazing.
As for Magoo and Milo — they certainly do look right at home, and it must be so exciting for them to go out in the back yard!
*(Confession: I had to look up “Khinkali”. The nice thing about that moniker is that Kali is a built-in nickname!)
She is a beautiful girl.
Yay for Chaterelle and also new kittens! Who knew there were so many kinds of pasta dumpling things. I went to look up the ones I was not familiar with. Love and Hisses fun and educational too!
Hello, Dumplings! You’ve come to the right place! And Rocco may not realize he needs an escort, but it looks like he has one anyway!
More fosters, they are lovely. It’s such fun to be able to help by caring for them and then moving them along to good homes.
I am enjoying seeing how Milo and Magoo are taking over.
