Weekly Instagram/Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr Roundup.

Leapin’ (permanent resident) Charlie. (Or about-to-be-leapin’, anyway.)

(Permanent resident) Khal, who is simultaneously magnificent and tired of my nonsense.

Good night innernets. ((Permanent resident) Archie, who looks SO SWEET when he’s sleeping.)

Today’s blog post is all about our 7 current permanent resident kitties and where each came from. Three of them (Alice, Dewey and Charlie) are foster “fails” – ie, they started out as fosters, and instead of adopting them out, we adopted them ourselves. The other 4, basically, just showed up on our property when we lived in the country. (We did not actually keep every stray cat who showed up on our property, for the record – many of them became fosters and were adopted out through Challenger’s House.)

Former foster Stardust (Mercury’s daughter from 2017) looks pretty relaxed. I don’t know how that could possibly be comfortable (my foot is falling asleep just looking at that, I swear), but then I’m not a cat. 😻

(Thanks, Debra!)

Alice has Resting Alice Face.

We now have a clickable map of the various states Love & Hisses fosters have been adopted to! Go here. (Note: I didn’t include fosters in the Huntsville, Alabama area, because that’s the vast majority of them, and would have taken forever!) Click on any of the yellow states to see the list of fosters who went to that state. (The whole middle of the country needs to get moving. And I’m looking at you too, Alaska and Hawaii!)

Newt’s keeping an eye on things.

Jake and Khal, doing what they do.

Good night innernets. (Charlie)

Archie (on the table) and Jake (in the chair) need a morning nap to recover from their full night of sleep. Later they’ll take a late-morning nap and perhaps to rest up from that they’ll snooze the afternoon away. It’s good to stick to a schedule.

Former fosters! On the top we have beautiful brown tabby boy Drum, who was our foster in 2010 (and briefly in 2011.) On the bottom we have beautiful house panther Branwen (who was Juniper when we fostered her in 2016). And on the right, here they are today! Such a beautiful pair. ❤️ (Thanks, Tamra!)

Throw Back Thursday: From 2007: Sugarbutt (the cat) and Fricassee (aka “Frick”) in the back yard. This is one of my all-time favorite pics, and the caption (below) still makes me laugh.

Is it just me, or do these look like weirdly posed scenes, like something you’d see in the JC Penney catalog? I imagine a photographer yelling “Frick! You WANT him, you want him with every feather on your body, but Sugarbutt! You don’t even notice Frick, you’re just standing there being beautiful. Be beautiful, Sugarbutt! Be beautiful and feisty and unattainable, and Frick! Want him! Want him badly, but sadly, knowing that you can never have someone that beautiful. He’s out of your league! PERFECT!”

Sweet floofy tortie girl Mollie (she was Millinocket/Millie) and sweet brother Dexter, both of whom we fostered in 2018, from the Mainers litter! Their people came down from Kentucky to get them, and look how floofily beautiful they have grown to be! ❤️ (Thanks, Sharon!)

Throw Back Thursday: From 2015, the Starks (calico Arya, flame-point Jon Snow, gray and white Brandon and buff and white Hodor) were awfully cute.

Throw Back Thursday: From 2013. Spitz (gray kitten) and Phelps (black with yellow collar) were both pretty sure that they were Da BAYbees.

Throw Back Thursday: From last year. Archie indulging in his second favorite hobby – sitting in a box of paper, shredding it, and ptui’ing shreds of paper all over the floor. He’s a well-rounded individual, that boy. (His very most favorite hobby: beating up dish towels, of course.)
