Forgotten Felines of Huntsville quilt auction, now ongoing!

In Memory of Rebecca Renay Holt Metro… Mrs. Metro was a reluctant lover of cats, mainly influenced by her 4 daughters. She was a talented seamstress who enjoyed making clothes and quilts for family & friends. She had a keen eye for color & design, leaning into the playful side of life. Rebecca Metro passed away recently, after a short battle with cancer… Her family hopes this Quilt brings someone joy and warmth… Her daughter #2, Jamie, lovingly Donated this incredible work of art to our Rescue, after having had it only lying on an unused guest bed for a short period of time. She knows that her Mother would be tickled to see its beauty shared with so many, and for it to benefit kitties, sweet babies like the ones her daughters love.

Each $5 Raffle Entry will benefit our Sanctuary Cats Fund – we hope to Honor Mrs. Metro by doing justice to the incredible handwork she created, and putting all funds raised to wonderful use!

I encourage you to go to the auction Facebook page to see more detailed pictures and videos of this quilt – there are so many details those pictures above don’t capture!

To enter, send $5 per entry to forgottenfelineshsv (at) yahoo.com via the “sending to friends” option (to avoid fees) and note “QUILT.” You can enter RIGHT NOW through Saturday (June 26th) at 7 PM (Central Time.) If you aren’t in the Huntsville, AL area, the quilt will be shipped to you!

All proceeds benefit the Forgotten Felines of Huntsville Sanctuary Cats Fund for cats in long-term care.

Do you remember Fizzbin? Of course you do, it hasn’t been that long! But here’s a random baby picture of her, to refresh your memory.

Here she is now!

Michelle says: Ali the old cranky one is finally starting to chill. Fizz played with her tail a little earlier all while dodging any swatting (if it happened) lol. She is unbelievably vocal, now when she closes her mouth the little tongue hangs out. Her fluff suit was so funny! She was making biscuits on my soft pants, cotton tail jumped up on the bed and scared the daylights out of her. She also got her first trash pandas helmet!! New mascot 🤣🤣

I love how HAPPY she is – that picture of her and Cotton Tail looking out the window, oh my LORD how sweet is that! That is one happy girl. (And FYI, the Rocket City Trash Pandas is the local baseball team!)

Thank you, Michelle!

Alice Mo keeps an eye on Earl. She’d be PERFECTLY happy to share a carrier with him on moving day, she’s a giver like that.
