So yes, Calliope and the kittens now have the run of the upstairs during the day, which effectively doubles the amount of space they have. They’re enjoying it! I haven’t caught any of the kittens jumping from the top of the tall scratcher to the bed, but it’s just a matter of time.
(And no, I am not letting the permanent residents upstairs – Calliope is a protective mama and I don’t think that setting Charlie, Khal and Magoo free into the upstairs to make her kittens hiss and floof would be a good idea at ALL.)
PS: I got the word yesterday afternoon that Calliope is now ADOPTION PENDING! But don’t start missing her – she’ll be with us until late September/early October. Her people are moving from far away to much closer and (understandably!) don’t want to adopt her and then immediately have to put her through a move. So we get to enjoy her for a while longer… and you know I’m not sad about that!

Whenever I’m in the back yard doing things, I always have a snooperviser.
Magoo is making it known that he wants the job as Sheriff – a role that has been vacant since Kara (aka “Sheriff Mama”) passed in 2020. I think Magoo will do the job well, he’s certainly nosy enough!

Lovely news for Caliope. Is she small? I know her kittens have grown like weeds but she does look quite small beside them.
She’s so beautiful and really looks so calm and content.
