…i’m interested in that bird feeder. never seen one like that. where did u get it ?

Amazon, right here. It looks like the red one isn’t available anymore, but the same thing is available in green. It looks like Chewy carries it too.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When you put out Sodapop’s food, do you wait and see if any of the kittens seem interested? At what age do they get interested? After they’ve mastered the litterbox?
There’s pretty much always a plate of canned food in there, so I don’t really need to wait and see (and Sodapop is more of a fan of kibble than canned food, so she doesn’t clean the plate.)
They usually start trying canned food (and kibble too, for that matter) from about 4 1/2 – 5 weeks on. They’ve been sniffing around her food but haven’t actually tried any of it yet (and I’ve put some canned food in their mouths, only to get the “Eww, that’s gross” reaction.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

How was your experience with Temu? I am hesitant to order from them, but their prices seem so great! Is the quality of the items up to par? How is shipping-did you have to wait weeks coming from China or somewhere?

It was a decent experience – some of the stuff on their site is already located in the US, so you only have to wait a few days to receive your order. I think the longest I’ve had to wait is maybe 3 weeks, for something that came directly from China.

The quality of the items – at least for the stuff I’ve ordered – has been good, there’s nothing I’ve ordered that hasn’t been what I expected.

I will say – they do email a LOT with their special offers and all that, but I use a specific email for online ordering, so I only see the spam when I check that email address – and when I unsubscribed from their emails, they actually STOPPED sending me emails, which I appreciate.

Charlie decided he wanted to come upstairs, so I opened the door at the top of the stairs. He RAN up, skidded across the floor at the top of the stairs, saw that there were three mostly-grown cats sitting there staring at him, and turned and ran back downstairs. Stapler was like “WHAT. WAS. THAT?!”

Paper Clip sat in her box and considered the interaction.

And Posty had some lap time.

Moxie in the Fruitasan.

Fanta in the Fruitasan.

Poppi in the Fruitasan.

And Sundrop in the Fruitasan. (His face just cracks me UP.)

Fanta checks out the milk bar situation, while Sundrop gets sassy with Mama.

They are just LOVING the tunnel scratcher.

Sodapop checks on the bird situation.

And keeps an eye on the Fanta situation.

In lieu of a permanent resident picture, please admire some garden pics from last fall. Every year, in the holiday card she sends, Shannon includes a packet of Marigold seeds from her garden. I’ve always stashed them in the kitchen with the intention of planting them, and then forget until it’s too late.

Last year, I remembered I had them! I planted them, they grew, and as it turns out the bees are big fans of Marigolds. Who knew?

So pretty!

I love my little bee friends.

I do not pet the bees, but I always consider it.

Look! It’s former fosters Thunderclap (TC) Newman (left) and his brother Jethro Tull. We fostered them in 2014, and they moved to Oregon where they have been SPOILED ROTTEN every single day of their lives. Still BFFs all these years later. LOVE. IT. (Thanks Marc & Bonnie!)

Throw Back Thursday: it has been TEN YEARS since we were fostering Peter, Paul and Mary, and Mary spit at me while I was taking video of her brothers. She was so very PLEASED with herself.

Posty, Paper Clip and Stapler are excellent napping companions, if you were curious. (They now have the run of the upstairs except for the nursery where the Pops are. No, they will not be meeting the Pops; the kittens are too little for that, and Sodapop is very protective.)

Poppi’s on the scratcher under Moxie’s watchful eye, and Sodapop instructs the boys in proper litter box technique.

Happy Thlurrrpsday, from Fanta.

Good night innernets. (Paper Clip)

    Such GREAT pictures today! I love the box saying. I think that needs to be Allice’s new box! The kittens all lined up on the scratcher makes me want to squoosh them all. Thanks for answering my question also.

    Marigolds seem to be paradise for bees in my garden, closely followed by the lavender. Love the photographs. Thank you

    I love the “I don’t pet the bees” comment. When my oldest was about 4, he decided to pet a bee on the ground to “see how fuzzy it was”… and it ended with a bit of crying and him declaring that ” the bad bee bit him”!

    That video of mary spitting is my favorite; it makes me laugh every time and then I have to watch it multiple times.

    As a former State Department (retired) worker, please reconsider ordering anything from Temu! The prices are low because it is underwritten the the Chinese Communist government. Their aim is to become the new Amazon and get Americans dependent on them. I avoid all Chinese products or try to. It’s virtually impossible but I try.

      Good point – I’ve tried to reduce what I buy online (including from Amazon as well as Temu), but you’re right – it’s virtually impossible to avoid Chinese products.
