1-28-22 Friday

Edited to add: yesterday was such a busy day, I mixed up my days and was thinking today is Thursday. The questions-and-answers I usually post on Fridays will happen on Monday instead. Sorry about that!

In case you missed it on social media yesterday, Wisteria is (as I suspected) a faker.

Yes, that’s two in a row. 2022: Year of the Faker, apparently.

“I never SAID I was pregnant.”

“I just never said I wasn’t.”

“You assumed.”

“So there!”

What a smug little face.

And so, so sweet.

When I went into the room yesterday morning to get her for her vet appointment, she was just chilling under the blanket that hangs down the front of the couch. Silly girl.

So I dropped her off at the vet, did some errands and came home, and not long after, the vet called to report that she was NOT pregnant. While of course I would have loved to see the gorgeous kittens she would have produced, I was really happy for her. She’s so young and tiny that I would have been worrying the entire time.

(Though I’d like to add here that Carolyn – mama to the Little House on the Prairie kittens – wasn’t even 6 pounds when I got her. Wisteria weighs a good half pound more than that – but she still needs to put on weight.)

I went to pick her up, but upon leaving the vet’s office, I talked to Brittany and ended up taking her to Michelle’s house.

Wisteria is adoption pending (yes, that happened fast!) While ordinarily she’d come back to my house to have her course of medication and wait for her spay to happen (it’s scheduled for February 10th), that also ties up my foster room. With kitten season starting to ramp up, it was decided that the people adopting Wisteria would foster-to-adopt her (she’ll be formally adopted once her spay is done). Michelle is going to deliver her to her new home, and so rather than bring her home with me and then have to take her to Michelle’s, I took her to Michelle’s right then.

So that was quite the whirlwind of a day!

Wisteria is off to the vet this morning – she started sneezing yesterday. While she’s there for the sneezing, they’ll do a pregnancy check. I know what *I* suspect the answer will be, but I’ll let y’all know later today what the official word is.

The verdict: Wisteria is a fakey fakey faker. No babies on board, now or ever! Yay!!! She’s got a bit of an upper respiratory infection, and is on meds for that, but otherwise in good shape.

Also, she’s adoption pending.

Good night innernets. (Wisteria)

Hooray and phew for Wisteria! Yes she was so small, it’s a relief she doesn’t have to go through pregnancy. And wonderful that her new home can take her straight away! It was a joy to see photos of her.

Thanks for this blog btw, my cat died suddenly and unexpectedly (he just collapsed outside the bathroom while i was brushing my teeth) on December 22nd and i’m honestly crushed, i think about him every day. Checking in here daily during my work day has always been fun, and currently it’s giving me lots of comfort to see other cats having loving homes and good care 🙂

Oh, Camilla, I’m so sorry! I hope you can get another kitty when you’re ready. It won’t be the same, of course, but it helps.

Thank you, really appreciated. I’ve never lost a pet before and i guess i know it would be painful but it’s still surprising me every day! Maybe some day i will get another pet, and for the meantime it’s lovely to enjoy everyone else taking great care of theirs 😀

So sorry for the sudden loss of your furbaby kitty Camilla! I’ve been through many passings of cats and dogs. If and when you’re ready to start giving your love to one again, it can be soothing. Good luck to you.

I’m glad she isn’t pregnant and never will be. She’s adorable, but we all know there are plenty of kittens!

Yaaaaay for the pending adoption, Miss Mysterious Wisteria Whispery Whiskers! XD Yep, that name keeps getting longer. Whoops on me, I’m already attached. 😛 Seriously, I’m not surprised she’s spoken for, because what a total lovebug! Who could resist? Honestly, may her lucky adopters have many years of love and purrs ahead of them, and may they send happy updates!

I’m also glad there are no percolating kittens, because Miss Whisper Whiskers over there is practically still a kitten herself.

I’ve just had a thought. Is Kristy still at Michelle’s as well? I’m suddenly imagining friendly Kristy-Wisteria interaction, and I am meeeeelting!

A seal point Siamese kitten? I’m surprised somebody break into your house and stealer right there in then. Personally I think a kitten is a kitten and adorable is adorable. But some people really love a certain breed.

I grew up with the worlds best seal point Siamese and my mother really wanted another one. Unfortunately I’ve inherited said Kitten who is currently making my life ‘lively.’
