I suspect you’re shocked to hear that kittens like boxes. Pierogi looks so smug.

Pierogi’s little smile. He’s such pleasant chap.

Pierogi and Bao have a tussle in my lap.
Teresa was here Monday, and she and Karen were both here yesterday (we were packing boxes for auction shipping, I’m sure I’ve mentioned that we do that at my house), and they both got to meet the kittens. Turns out that these kittens are pretty darn confident. Momos wasn’t all that interested in being petted/cuddled/kissed (she doesn’t MIND a pet/cuddle/kiss, it just has to be her own idea) but everyone else – especially Bao – was all about making friends. They’re such cute little charmers. (Bao was a little obsessed with Teresa’s toes.. and phone!)

Magoo worked really hard yesterday, sniffing every single box and auction bid set to make sure everything met his exacting standards. He was paid handsomely with this catnip toy. (We send one out to every auction winner, and they are almost always a HUGE hit. Magoo certainly likes his!)

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky/Threads) yesterday.

Pierogi’s always just so ding-dang happy to see you!

It’s been 21 years (well, 21 years and a couple of days) since we brought home our very first fosters – Mia and her kittens Edgar, Flossie, Snoopy, Peanut & Oy. We’re currently at foster #598, and we’re not stopping any time soon. Happy foster-versary to us! (And thanks to all of YOU for following along!)

To a kitten, everything’s a toy. They REALLY like playing with the pie plate and loaf pan scratcher/beds like they’re toys rather than, y’know, beds and scratchers.

“I don’t know about you, lady,” says Bao.

Juuuust a reminder that this lineup of baffled goobers are still available for adoption. (From left: Tortellini (girl), Wonton (boy), Momos (girl), Pierogi (boy.)) They’re your standard-issue kittens who tolerate being kissed, will let you cuddle them when they’re not busy, have enough energy to power your entire town for a year and will sell your car to keep themselves in Churu. Email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire or fill out an application hither.

I love seeing a happy Magoo! Those kittens are absolutely thriving, too. I have an especial soft spot for Tortellini. I hope she finds her people soon.
Happy foster-versary, indeed! 598 cats and their families say thank you!! (and so do your readers!)
I can’t wait to receive my Magoo-inspected shipment!!!
Happy, happy foster-versary!!!! 21 years — that is an amazing record. Happy to be along for the ride starting with the Brady Bunch 🙂
So good to hear Magoo is a A+ snoopervisor!!! He seems to be content.
The reasons why out of town adoptions for the Dumpling Gang must be finalized by the adopter are hilarious!!! I LUV your sense of humor / snark. Literally LOL’d, made sure no liquid in my mouth before reading. Hope their hoomans come along very soon.
When did you start fostering the two-headed kitten? (Third pic from the bottom) Amazing!
They are all adorable.
Happy Foster-versary to you and Fred and here’s to the next 598+ cats and kittens! Just as a matter of interest, how many of these have been foster fails for you, apart from Milo and Magoo?
I’ll have to get back to you on that – I can’t remember off the top of my head!
The kittens have been so well socialized, it’s fabulous. As for Magoo, I’m glad to see he’s doing well.
I’m not surprised the kittens are a whole litter of charmers! Bao, you are a goof. <3
I'd happily let Magoo be the benevolent inspector of incoming and outgoing mail around here if he liked. He'd undoubtedly make sure cards and letters from around the world (I'm a radio hobbyist) passed the sniff test. I wonder, would he accept payment in pets and cuddles as well as catnip? 🙂
