In case you missed it, on Saturday…

Calliope and Daphne were adopted (together) and went home!

They now live in Tennessee, outside Nashville. Calliope kept her name, and Daphne is now Olympia. Callie and Ollie! And best of all, you can follow them on Facebook, right here!

Today’s post has the rest of the pictures I took of them while they were with us. They are a truly photogenic pair!

Snuggling on the ham-mick.

Daphne and Pete on top, and Smitty in the “bowl” below them.

Posing on the cat tree – Daphne top, Smitty middle, Pete bottom.

And playing in the living room – Daphne in the box o’ paper, Pete and Smitty with the “Hide and Seek” toy.

Daphne with the impossibly long tail.

Pete messing with mama’s tail.

Daphne and Smitty have a snuggle.

Wishing I had one more Gold Medal Flour box (time to go back to Sam’s Club!)

Calliope says “You got Churu?”

Daphne havin’ a think.

Pete and Calliope havin’ a snooze.

Smitty says “Stay there! I gotta grab the packing tape!”

One last family portrait.

As you may recall, we are taking a few weeks off from fostering. I’m going out of town for a week in early November, and had promised Fred I wouldn’t take any more fosters until I get back from that trip. This will give Pete and Smitty a chance to settle in to the routine, and give us a short break (I can’t remember the last time we had more than a few days’ break from fosters.)

What’m I going to do while we are foster-free? Well, I’ll still be posting blog posts Monday through Friday as usual, and will be posting on social media as usual, too. You’ll be seeing the permanent residents a lot more than you usually do – and I’ve got allll kinds of garden pics to share.

With the foster room being empty, we’re going to take the chance to do a few things – I’ve wanted to replace the sink and vanity in there pretty much ever since we moved in, so we’re gathering what we need to do that. A couple of walls can use some touch-up paint, so I’ll be doing that as well.

And of course I need to get the dang 2027 calendars done! I was hoping to get those done and ready to sell by early October but ha ha HA, nope. Maybe mid to late October – hopefully!

So, yeah – I’ll be managing to keep busy. I’m sure the time will fly by!

The Magnificent Khal continues to be magnificent, as you can see.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky/Threads) this weekend.

Calliope doesn’t go up high very often these days, so I was startled when I looked up to see her surveying her kittens from up there.

If you missed it in this morning’s blog post, Fizz (white and brown tabby) and Whiskey (classic brown tabby) were returned to Forgotten Felines. Their family is moving out of the country and can’t take them, so back to FF they came. They are currently at Michelle’s (Michelle is who I foster under) and available for adoption together. I remember Fizz as a little clown who loves other cats, and Whiskey as skittish at first, but a lovebug when he warms up. I’ll share updated pics when I get them. If you’re interested in adopting these two, email Forgotten Felines at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire, or fill out an online application here.

Pete and Daphne stole one of my dryer balls, and it’s apparently now a cat toy.

Daphne sings to the feather teaser.

I heard someone snoring in my desk, so had to check it out.

It’s Smitty and the belly that is NOT a trap.*
*Except when it IS.

Good night innernets. (Pete & Daphne, who are all “Sorry lady, no room for you here!” and Calliope, who could not possibly look more content.)

Calliope and Daphne have an early morning snuggle. ❤️

🎉Happy 6th Gotcha Day to former fosters Rhus (formerly Rochefort, 2020) and Oleander (Constance)!

Cat says: 6 years ago my parents and i drove to al to pick up my babys. and it was the very best thing we had done in many years.

in the past year things have changed alot around the house. and routines have goten different. but muffin jobs and muffinry remains consistent. adopting them was the very very best thing i could hav done and they make evry single day so so much better.

they have opend their gotcha day presents and kinda made a chaos zone in the middle of the livingroom right now. they are having a blast. im hoping to get some better pictures later but here are some for now.
(Thanks, Cat!) PS: You can see these guys on Facebook at Oleander and Rhus -Formerly Constance and Rochefort !

Someone sent us this (rechargeable) snake toy that moves a LOT like a real snake. What’d the kittens and Calliope think of it? Well, as usually seems to happen with these types of toys, they’re initially fascinated by it, but lose interest after about 10 minutes. It always works best to only bring them out sporadically. (Also, Calliope is obviously an excellent snake hunter!)

All-purpose kittens (and mama!) If you’re curious how much everyone weighs now (the kittens will be 4 months old on the 14th), here you go:

Calliope: 10.56 lbs/ 4.78 KG
Daphne: 3.94 lbs/ 1.78 KG
Smitty: 4.25 lbs/ 1.92 KG
Pete: 4.63 lbs/ 2.1 KG

Hooray, hooray, Calliope and Daphne were adopted today! They are on their way home to Tennessee (outside Nashville) with their new family. Calliope will keep her name, and Daphne’s new name is Olympia. They are going to be sooo loved and spoiled! ❤️ Happy life, sweet girls! (Follow them on Facebook right here!)

Good night innernets. (Smitty & Pete)

Pete takes flight. (I didn’t expect him to make this little jump, and am surprised I managed to catch a picture of the event!)

With Calliope and Olympia (formerly Daphne) going home yesterday, Magoo now has unrestricted access to the upstairs, and the first thing he did was take a long nap in the cat tree in my bedroom.

Calliope and Daphne were adopted (together) yesterday and went home to Tennessee! Calliope has kept her name, and Daphne is now Olympia (Callie and Ollie!) Here’s the video of some of my favorite pictures during their stay with us. (Note: if you weren’t following us back then, the kittens you see Calliope with at the beginning of the video weren’t hers – they were the kittens we were already fostering, and we wanted to see if they all got along. They did just fine!)

Good night innernets. (Smitty)
