Owen in a box o’ paper being adorable. As he does!
Nolan and those awesome whiskers.
Owen’s all “HEY. I got good whiskers, too!” You sure do, kid.
Patsy likes to chatter at the teaser. I love how it looks like she’s smiling while Nolan looks kind of nervous.
She’s an exhausted pile o’ floof.

Esmerelda (whom we are calling “Ezzie” most of the time) really likes that bed, so Fred moves it with her when he moves her from his bedroom to his office.
Fred discovered over the weekend that Ezzie likes ping pong balls. She also likes feather teasers, and track toys, but is less interested in the laser light.
I wish she could tell us her story – she was obviously well treated in the past, doesn’t hesitate to come over and ask for petting – and as mentioned, she’s a lap cat. We had guys here last week working on the supports under the house (UGH) and she stomped right over to be petted. Fred worries that she’s bored, but every time I go in to hang out with her for a little while, she looks perfectly content. She’s not digging at the windows to go outside, she will lightly growl if she sees Charlie in the distance out the window, but I think that if properly introduced she’d be fine with other cats.
Her problem with Charlie is CHARLIE’S fault, since he loses his freaking mind every time he sees her. Fred had to shut the blind in his bedroom that overlooks the back yard because Charlie jumps up on the windowsill and tries to attack her through the window.
Once she’s been tested this week, we’ll let one of the Alphabet Gang in to meet her and see how she deals with that.

ChaCha REALLY likes that scratching post.
“You’re not gonna wake up my babies, are you?” No ma’am!
I’m just gonna look. (From left: Mambo, Sashay, Flamenco & Tango)
“I’ll take it from here, lady.”
Sashay finds her brothers to be excellent pillows.

Owen sniffed Auntie Alice, who smacked at him, hissed, and stomped away. And he was all “What’s HER problem?”

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky) this weekend.
Good morning from the milk bar. 🍼 ❤️
I put “Birdy Heaven” (on YouTube) on the TV for the kittens for the first time, and I think it’s safe to say that they were ENTHRALLED. That’s Patsy in the bed on the floor and Nolan and Owen watching from the cat tree.

Kittens at the milk bar (eventually). Your daily dispatch from the crate!
Did you meet Esmerelda on the blog this morning? If not, well, here she is! She showed up as an extremely skinny stray last week, and it became clear that she’d likely been left behind by one of the neighbors who recently moved. We think she’s young – I’m guessing about 9 months old – and is NOT pregnant. She’ll be tested and vaccinated next week, and spayed once she puts on a little weight.
She is VERY friendly, and will be available for adoption soon. If you’re interested in adopting her, feel free to email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire. I expect she’ll be ready to go in a couple of weeks. When I tell you she’s a lapcat, I’m not kidding. She is VERY sweet. (And yes, that’s two female orange fosters I have in the house right now. Here’s how to tell them apart: Esmerelda has white on her nose, chin, chest and paws. ChaCha doesn’t!)

I got out the disc launcher for the kittens and it turns out that they’re 100% in on playing with the discs, but less interested in CHASING the discs. So I ended up putting the launcher away and flicking discs across the floor for them instead.
The Tiny Dancers (from left: Flamenco, Sashay, Tango (using Sashay as a pillow) and Mambo) are doing great. They’re small, but they’ve got lovely round bellies, nursing all the time, and gaining every day. Yay!
Nolan’s all “Whatcha doing NOW, lady?” Just looking at you, kiddo.
Good night innernets. (Esmerelda. Scroll up the timeline if you missed the introduction to this one! And no, she is not pregnant and doesn’t have kittens. It’s ChaCha who has the kittens. Yeah, I can’t keep all these ding dang fosters straight either.)
Kitten pie! (My favorite!) From left: Flamenco, Mambo, Sashay & Tango. The kittens only go into the pie plate on days when I need to change out soiled bedding. I pick up the kittens one by one, weigh them, put them in the pie plate, change out the bedding, and put them back. It takes maybe a minute, and ChaCha is fine with me handling them.
I walked into the kitchen to do some dishes, but (from left) Owen, Nolan and Patsy said “Sorry, this spot is occupado. You go take a break.” Since they ARE the bosses of me, I did as I was told.

Turns out we’ve got a little nest of snakes – Flamenco, especially, likes to give me the ol’ hisseroo.
(Please be patient – a representative from the “Well, actually” contingent will be along soon to inform us all that I am WRONG, that neonatal kittens DO NOT hiss, that these kittens are OBVIOUSLY in distress and I need to get them to the vet ASAP.)
What I can tell you about Esmerelda, after fostering her for a couple of days: she comes right over to me when I walk into the room, rubs against my legs, and loves to be petted. Likes being held on her back like a baby, and loves to sit in my lap and gaze into my eyes as I pet her. Likes to sit in the window and watch the birds flit by. It’s early days, but I’m confident in saying that she’s a lapkitty who really likes people.

When the kittens start hanging out on my desk, you KNOW I’ve gotta put the Tater-dancing-with-dust-motes video on for them to watch. Patsy was pretty interested in what that kitten was doing.
Two floofy boys. (Nolan and permanent resident Khal.)
Sweet little pile. That’s Flamenco on the bottom, Tango using her as a pillow, and Sashay, also using her as a pillow. Mambo is actually behind Flamenco, under Tango. You can’t see him, but I assure you he’s there.
Good morning sunshine(s). From left: Nolan, Owen, Patsy.
🎉 Former foster Meander, looking very cuddly and content. ❤️ (Thanks, Sharon!)

Good morning from mama ChaCha and her wiggly kittens. I canNOT believe that I didn’t realize Sashay wasn’t at the milk bar ’til I spotted her at the end.
Chonky little handful. (Tango)

Shenanigans & tussling abound. Looks like Nolan’s got a new wrassling move!
Did I mention that Esmerelda (who we are currently calling “Ezzie”) is the sweetest? She IS. I’m trying to get a video of her, but she jumps down and immediately comes over to me to be petted, which isn’t much of a video! (I’ll keep trying, of course.)
Hissy little handful. That’s Sashay, giving me the ol’ hisseroo. I wish this was a video instead of a picture, because it was the MOST half-hearted hiss ever, and then she just looked a little embarrassed. I did not kiss her, but kissin’ time is coming, oh yes it is.

A snuggly lapkitty people kitty lovebug? Oh, now I really want to snuggle with Esmerelda Ezzie the orange emerald! <3 If I weren't in Wisconsin… darn distance.
The Alphabet Gang is just the cutest! I’d love to see a picture of Patsy next to Kahl. It would look like one of those “How it started…how its going” memes!
