Ciabatta’s all “I was not biting Mister Frog on the eyeball. I would never!”

Pita, Ciabatta and Pumpernickel were having a meeting I wasn’t invited to, apparently.

Babka dangles the toeses.

Pita’s got the crazy eyes.

Pumpernickel and Ciabatta wonder if it’s almost Churu time.

It took these kittens no time at all to find the top of my desk, and I am very glad that I already had the keyboard cover in place.

“What doin’, lady?” wonders Crouton.

So over the weekend, I might have jumped the gun a little. I announced that Crouton and Pumpernickel were being adopted together and that Ciabatta and Pita were being adopted together.

Crouton and Pumpernickel ARE being adopted together, that’s still true – but after some discussion with the adopter, they decided that Ciabatta and Babka were the better fit.

So this leaves Pita still available (and Crumpet at Petsmart still available), and when that changes I will let you know!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Meander looks so annoyed here, but she was purring up a storm.
Skip (green collar) goes for a wander.
Then makes his way back to the milk bar.
Meander has a think.
She is so absolutely adorable. And those kittens aren’t so bad either!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Newt is pretty darn cute too.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) this weekend.

Breakfast is served! From top going clockwise: Pita, Pumpernickel, Crouton, Babka and Ciabatta.

I’m pretty sure all the kittens are BOYS! Fred agrees with me (I was a little unsure on a couple), though we occasionally mess this up so if one of them turns out to be a girl, you know I’ll let you know.

And they are named! Hope y’all like the names, because I sure do. 🙂

I had a bunch of short takes of the kittens leaping, skittering and jumping, so stitched them all together. These kittens crack me UP (as you can tell!)

We have received an adoption application on Crouton (left) and Pumpernickel – together! That leaves Ciabatta, Pita and Babka still available. In case you were wondering. 😻

Those tiny little kicking feet just get me every time.

This is how I change out the bedding in the crate, while Meander is occupied eating. Put a blanket in my lap, pile all the kittens in, put a fresh blanket in the crate, and then pile them back into the crate. It goes very quickly, and no one complained, at least not this time. (I don’t change the bedding every day, just when it’s particularly soiled.)

Good night innernets. (Ciabatta)

I got the word last night – applications have been approved – Pita & Ciabatta are being adopted together, and Pumpernickel & Crouton are being adopted together. (Note: this is where I jumped the gun. I will be posting a correction today on all the social medias.)

This leaves Babka available for adoption – and while we always love kittens to get adopted with their siblings, keep in mind that that isn’t always possible – you will note that Muffin (formerly Ouiser) was adopted to be a friend to a kitty who needed a friend, and they are doing great (you can see her and Waffles here and here if you aren’t already following them.)

Crumpet is settling in well at Petsmart, according to the volunteers. No inquiries about her yet, but I suspect it’s only a matter of time.

Okay, a lot of people are asking how I know that the white kittens are going to be siamese mixes (aka “meezers”) and the answer is I don’t! Right now it kind of looks like Skitter (purple collar) and Skip (green collar) are going to be white, and Lollygag (red collar) and Bolt (blue collar) are going to be meezers because they are more of a creamy color than a white. Mosey (at the bottom of the picture, no collar) looks like he’s either going to be a buff (dilute orange) or maybe a seal point. Right now we’re just staring at them like they’re Polaroids, waiting for their colors to develop. We’ll know more in a couple of weeks!

Tossing toys for the kittens. They certainly do love their toys!

Babka would like you to know that she is (1) cute, (2) confident, (3) snuggly (you can flip her over and hold her like a baby), and (4) available for adoption!

YouTube link
First we’ve got a little half-hearted hissing from Dillydally (orange tabby) and then we have some hissing from Bolt (blue collar) AND a few spits. Prediction: Bolt’s gonna be the dramatic one. After that, there’s some moshing as Mosey (cream color; no collar) tries to get to the bottom of the pile and then the pile rearranges itself. (Mama Meander is in the window bed, taking a break and watching the birds.)

Who’s who:
Bolt: Blue collar
Dillydally: Orange tabby
Lollygag: Red collar
Mosey: No collar
Skip: Green collar
Skitter: Purple collar

Listen. I know you’re but a wee bebbeh, but is this the best you can do, Bolt? One little half-hearted hiss before you floop down and go back to sleep? Really? Where’s my nest of snakes?

Good night innernets. (Mama Meander and (from left) Skip (green collar), Lollygag (red), Skitter (purple), Mosey, Bolt (blue), Dillydally (orange tabby under mama’s leg.))

Ciabatta mustache you a question.

Crumpet, at Petsmart, is doing well. She’s settling in, getting along fine with the other cats, and getting lots of love from the volunteers. ❤️

Pita shows off her leap. Pumpernickel, on the other hand, thinks the bed is just a bit too far, and he’s not willing to make the leap. That’s okay – not everyone is born to fly!

Your daily milk bar video, complete with the gentle sounds of Fred coughing up a lung in the background. (April in Alabama = allergies!)

From left to right: Skip, Lollygag, Skitter, Bolt, Mosey and Dillydally. ❤️

Good night innernets. (Ciabatta and Crouton on the lower level, Pita and Babka on the upper level. Pumpernickel was sitting at my feet squeaking at me, as is his way.)

    Yay! for all the adoptions, and the health of Meander and her (final, thank you FFH) kittens.

    “staring at them like they’re Polaroids, waiting for their colors to develop.” This made me laugh, and I needed a laugh on this very, very Monday-ish Monday! And how unusual would it be for the entire litter to be boys????

    They definitely look like colourpoints to me.

    Have you heard how the Ducklings are doing?
