They’ve really got this whole laundry-assistant thing down.

Wren’s all “We takes our work seriously!”

Tater, laughing maniacally.

Starling’s favorite spot, inside the basket.

I caught Rufous climbing into the box of paper to keep Wren company, and he looks like a frog, doesn’t he?

“What?”

The kittens are off for their spays and neuter this morning! I expect we’ll be home by early afternoon and ready to nap.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A stretch and yawn from Spock. Rough life, kiddo.
A hiss from Captain Hissypants Kirk (and another stretch from Spock!)
The kittens are exploring the crate under Uhura’s watchful eye.
Spock senses new worlds to explore beyond the ship! Uh, I mean CRATE.
Janeway looks comfy.
All quiet at the milk bar.
Riker’s keeping an eye on me.
A pile o’ cute, with Kes in the middle.
Troi comes to see what’s going on.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Khal on the back porch, looking like a big ol’ pile of floof. (And Charlie in the background.)

Wren LEAPS! into the day.

Former foster(s) update! Remember Frannie (Francesca) and Nacho (Ignacia) from… wow, was that only this year?! Yep, they went home in February! They were Kim Wexler’s daughters, (hey, I just realized that the family came to us exactly one year ago!), and they went to Maryland to join a family that includes former foster Reggie (formerly known as Luc, 2019.) Here they are now!

Becky says: I wanted to send you some updated pics on Frannie and Nacho. Plus some bonus pics of Reggie (Luc). Frannie is in love with Reggie and Nacho is in love with my other kitty, Archie. The boys treat them as their annoying little sisters. 😻

Thank you, Becky! ♥️

They’ve only been with me a few days, but it seems like Spock is a bit of a mama’s boy.

I was out running errands one day, and got a text from Fred (included in the video.) Naturally I had to look on our Nest cameras to see what had happened, and found that Tater had suddenly “discovered” the “bearskin rug” we got from CatLadyBox a few years ago, and felt it needed to be moved. That girl cracks me UP.

Line ’em up! Left to right: Starling, Wren, Rufous and Tater/Plover, who really want that feather teaser I’m waving around. Tomorrow they go for their spay/neuter surgeries!

Did I mention that Kirk likes to bring the drama? Here he is, hissing at me. You’ll see that I realize he’s reacting to my voice (which doesn’t usually happen quite this early, but clearly he’s a prodigy.)

Side note: Yes, he’s hissing. Yes, it happens often with kittens this age in reaction to an unfamiliar smell or sound. It’s normal, they grow out of it – usually once they start figuring out how to focus their eyes – and I’ve fostered 500+ kittens and cats so I’ve seen it many, many times. I’m working on putting together a long (lonnnnnng) video of all the hissing kittens I’ve had, but it’s slow going because there are so many. Interestingly, the bottle babies I’ve had don’t hiss at me except for maybe one or two the very first time I handle them.

6-kitten pie? My favorite! (From left: Kes, draped over Spock, Riker behind them, Troi, Kirk, and Janeway on the far right.)

Kirk loves his mama, who’s checking to see if I have more food for her.

Good night innernets. (Tater/Plover)

    In that first picture of Spock, on his side, he looks so much like a rat toy! Is his belly fur really shorter than the rest of his fur, or does it just look that way?

      I think it’s just the lighting!

    Do you realize how many Star Trek stories we could get out of your daily blog? We could probably start a series just with this group!

    Question about their noses: they seem to all have a line above their nose. Is that a “fold” that will eventually fill out? I don’t remember seeing it in so many kits in the same litter.

    I love it when people send updates of former fosters.

    Obviously Becky’s house is stressful and full of drama. Seriously though I love how smug and sleepy they all look like they don’t have a care in the world except when the next meal is coming

    Could you please send Tater to my house once a month to mop my floors? She handles that small bearskin rug very well.

      I’m so surprised she didn’t trip on it when she was coming down the stairs, but the girl knows what she’s doing!

    Obviously, Tater thought Daddy’s room needed a rug! 😉 Seriously, I love watching these babies run around — they were so teeny and frail at the beginning1
