Way way way back in 2013, we had this girl, who we named Kate (actually, she was Katherine, but we immediately nicknamed her Kate and never called her anything else.)

She was pregnant, and after a wait of, like, 700 million years (or nearly a month, if you’re one of those literal types), she had kittens.

She had five kittens, to be exact, and one of them was this little monkey, whose name was Charming. He looked like this:

And then like this:

One of his brothers was this adorable sweet muffin, whose name was Jareth. He looked like this:

And then like this:

Here’s a random picture of the whole litter (without their mama), just because, with (conveniently) Charming and Jareth giving the camera a bit of the ol’ attitude:

Charming and Jareth were adopted into the same home (yay!) Charming is now Toby, and Jareth is now Sooty, and here they are today with their little big brother Harley!

Left to right: Sooty, Harley and Toby.

Sooty and Toby are now 19 pounds of pure love and muscle, and Harley is 9 pounds. Wouldn’t that second picture be great as a Christmas card?

Thank you so much for the pictures, K, and give those sweet boys – all three of them – kisses from us!

When Uncle Stefan Visited Willa.

“What the – ?”

“That’s my food, Mister.”

“——”

“HE’S EATING MY FOOD.”

Willa retreated and kept an eye on Stefan from a distance. When he finished eating, he approached her for some sniffin’-noses action, and she got hissy and growly, so we put him back outside the room.

Willa was very quiet and subdued on Saturday. She spent all day sleeping in the crate (which I had set up when I thought I was getting a pregnant cat), and we’d go in and pull her out and pet her. She’d purr and she’d flick the end of her tail and she’d rub her face against us, but after a few minutes she’d get up and go back in the crate. She wasn’t eating or drinking, just wanted to sleep. I was starting to get worried, but at bedtime she came out of her crate, ate some treats, and drank water.

Sunday morning she was more herself, though still maybe a little quieter than usual. I guess we tend to forget what a big deal spay surgeries are for adults, since the little ones bounce back so quickly!

SUCH a beautiful boy.

ooooooohhhh Prince Charming with his lovely white jabot! Those boys are all growed up and beautiful – – as well as their little big brother! Thank you so much for sharing! Stefan… love him! Speedy healing, Willa!

Charming and Jareth and Kate-so purty! Glad to see they’ve grown up great!
How long does it take your more “aloof” cats to warm up to others? Just curious because Oreo is very hissy/growly still about Gypsy (the new puppy). It of course doesn’t help that we have a very open floor plan and there are no good places to “secure” the cat away from others (esp with the holidays coming). The puppy just wants to play and chases her when she sees her. We try to keep Gypsy on the leash whenever we know the cat is up and about, but it’s equally pretty tough to do that on a continuous basis. Any thoughts?

Kitty shelves? Any kind of high perches helps with our brood….

We have a few places the cat can get to. The puppy is not allowed upstairs and that is blocked off. So the cat can escape there and often does. She can climb onto the computer hutch, kitchen counter, or a few other hutches. She also hides UNDER the couch in our family room and the puppy doesn’t know that she is there.

I don’t have any cohesive thoughts on the topic, Holly, but I’ll post your question in Friday’s post, hopefully someone will have some ideas. I do know that probably as the puppy gets older and less prone to puppyish antics, things will calm down. It’s good that your cat has places to get away from the puppy, that was my first thought!

Happy to see the gorgeous, huge boys from your past fosters. What a great threesome! And that rug in front of a roaring fire looks terrific on these cold (southern) winter days.

Wow those boys sure grew up to be big handsome mancats! I’d love to snuggle down on that cozy rug with all three in front of the fire. Love the interaction with Willa and Uncle Stefan. He’s such a good boy.

That last picture is so a Christmas card.

If not a Christmas card, maybe a canvas like Miz Poo and Tubby.

K, that last photo is absolutely perfect.. I second (or is it third at this point) the idea of a Christmas card, or canvas..
