Cassandra, Daphne and Zeus have a LOT of whiskers between the three of them.

Daphne, up close. It’s interesting that it looks like there’s a stripe of white speckles going from her nose to her forehead. I wondered if it was a trick of the light, so I got my glasses and a flashlight and checked it out closer, and while there are not white speckles there, that strip of fur IS ever so slightly lighter than the fur around it, so I guess the camera grabbed that. Interesting!

Pandora on my blanket. (That is a cooling blanket – I got it at Costco at the beginning of the summer – and I think she likes the coolness on her belly.)

I interrupted a mother-son snuggly nap, apparently.

These kittens can TAKE OVER a bed.

Someone asked yesterday for pictures of Waffle as a kitten, side by side with Zephyr. We didn’t foster Waffle (or Mocha), but Tiffany put this post (below) together (click here to see the post at Facebook if it doesn’t show up for you below). There’s definitely a resemblance there!
She said that the shelter they adopted Waffle from had him listed as a short-hair!

I couldn’t get Zephyr and Waffle to sit side by side, but they’re fairly close here.

Do I just ADORE the freckles on Maple’s nose? I do indeed.

Waffle checks out his look in the mirror.

Muffin keeps an eye on ME in the mirror!

Mocha is such a sweet, sweet, SWEET girl.

Every evening, Charlie and Magoo (and sometimes Khal, if he’s interested) get canned food. And every evening Magoo and Charlie wait (im)patiently for me to get into the kitchen and get them their dang food. They’re like “Speed it UP, lady, we’re starvin’!”

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky/Threads) yesterday.

The kittens (from top: Zeus, Zephyr, Cassandra, Pandora & Daphne) are feeling good this morning! (They were spayed/neutered yesterday, if you missed that.)

*Waffle’s the king of the castle.
*Muffin says “Lady! Behind you! A serial killer! Or nothing at all!”
*Maple is getting SO many rainbow kisses of approval from Natalie/Milo.
*Mocha says “No seriously, lady. Behind you!”

Throw Back Thursday: from 2024, the Hopalong Gang was the very first litter to climb into my desk. I called it “an infestation of kittens” – and you’ll see baby Maple (then Dillydally) in there!

I ran across this blurry picture of brown tabby Badger (2015) and it made me think of this blurry picture of flame point Jon Snow (2013) and this blurry picture of orange tabby Gilbert (2014) and although I didn’t love that they were so blurry when I took them, someone said “That’s probably exactly how blurry they see YOU!”, and they have a point. A decade+ later, I think the blur adds to the charm of the shots.

WARNING: this is a video that includes Milo (formerly Rum), who passed away in early May. This video happened about 2 weeks before we said goodbye to him. (He had a liver shunt.)
I’ve kept this video in a folder on my desktop and have watched it probably more than 100 times. Milo caught a chipmunk in the back yard and brought it into our screened porch, assisted by Magoo. Seeing him so active and happy and proud of his catch always makes me smile (and wish that he was still here with us.) I thought it might make you smile, too.
(The chipmunk was caught (by us) and released unharmed. Our permanent residents are allowed in the back yard during the day – we have a cat fence around the back yard ( PurrfectFence.com) and keeps them contained to the back yard.)

Throw Back Thursday: from 2023, Kes was (I think!) the very first picture I took of a foster sitting on a Who Gives a Crap box. Another few years, I’ll have enough for a calendar of them!

I tell you what, that onesie/nightie does nothing for Calliope (she kinda looks like a sack of potatoes, don’t tell her I said that), but she manages to make it look AWFULLY cute anyway. (Cassandra agrees!)

Good night innernets. (Pandora, Zephyr & Zeus)

I think Calliope in her onesie looks like one of those giant seals lounging around on a dock. (Not that you look giant, dear girl, you are very svelte!)
