The kittens came through their spay/neuter surgeries just fine, and we were home by a little after noon! I’m always glad to get spay/neuter day done and over with, even if it does mean that they’ll start getting adopted soon.
Note: these jumping shots are from earlier this week. I was not encouraging the kittens to leap after yesterday’s surgeries!

Daphne (left) and Zeus atop the scratcher. I thought they were going to leap to the bed together…

But I think she lost her balance as he jumped, and she ended up on the floor (she landed on her feet and was fine.)

She attempted a tandem leap with Cassandra…

Then she made a solo leap and again: flawless!

A bit of a collision on the runway, but no injuries aside from hurt feelings.

This is what yesterday afternoon looked like – a long afternoon nap (for all the kittens, not just Zephyr and Zeus), and when they woke up, they were mostly back to normal.

Pandora’s legs look like they’re a mile long.

I’ve gotta say, this particular cat tree is proving to be pretty popular with the Brunch Bunch.

Maple says “Yep, this is cool.”

Mocha, also a fan.
Is it the tree itself? The location? The view? I dunno!

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky/Threads) yesterday.

These five kittens are off for their spays and neuters today! I imagine we’ll be home by early afternoon, ready for a nap. (From left: Zeus, Daphne, Pandora, Cassandra and Zephyr)

*Waffle, up close.
*Muffin, watching to see what I’m about to do.
*Maple is such a goofy girl (and another rainbow kiss from Natalie & Milo!)
*Mocha wonders if perhaps it’s dinner time.
(We are cat sitting these cats for the week. Muffin was formerly Ouiser (2023), Maple was formerly Dillydally (2024), and Waffle and Mocha were never our fosters, but we love ’em anyway.)

Fred got out the disc launcher – which Magoo LOVES – and the kittens were pretty interested. I don’t know that any of them can keep up with Magoo, though. That boy was FLYING. (This video is from yesterday; the kittens are off for their spay/neuters today!)

Home again, home again! The kittens came through their spay/neuters just fine (the girls are a bit dopey still; the boys don’t even seem to know anything happened). Everyone has eaten, and I expect they’ll all settle down for a long nap.

Calliope is all “Lady, shhhhh. The children are sleeping. They had a big day!” (The kittens were spayed/neutered this morning!)

Good night innernets. (Mocha (top) and Maple)
