“Come ON, lady, I’m havin’ a starvation!”

Gettin’ fancy.

Dressed properly in her pearls.

Forgotten Felines is NOW accepting applications for Lilia. She’s going for her last vaccination and her ID chip today, and then she’s ready to GO. Read her description below, and email Forgotten Felines at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire! (There are kitten pics below that wall of text, so scroll on down to see them.)

Lilia (estimated date of birth: 6/8/23) was discovered as a stray in the Huntsville area. When she came to Forgotten Felines, she was very pregnant and expected to give birth at any moment. She went into her foster home whereupon she waited 10 days before going into labor on June 29th. She gave birth to 4 kittens, but it was clear that there were more kittens – and despite her laboring, they weren’t being born – so we rushed her to the vet. An ultrasound showed two more kittens inside, and so they did a c-section. Unfortunately, neither of those two kittens made it through surgery. Back at home, she insisted on caring for her kittens. We helped her – bottle fed the kittens – and let her rest as much as possible. She kept them clean and fed, and after a rough few days she started feeling much better. Sadly, at just a few days old, one of her four kittens passed away, leaving her with three kittens to raise.

Despite a very tough experience, Lilia has recovered beautifully, and she is just the sweetest girl. Now that her kittens are older and doing great, it’s time for Lilia to be the baby! She is very friendly and has never met a stranger. She loves to sit in your lap and be petted – but she doesn’t stay long because there’s playing to be done. She is a very, very playful girl and at about two years old, has a lot of kittenish energy. She loves to chase toys – she particularly loves ping pong balls and rattly mice – and loves jumping up after feather teasers. In between the playing and the snuggling, she likes to keep a close eye on whatever it is you’re doing. Nothing gets past her! She loves to have her belly rubbed, is very mild-mannered, and is just a great all-around girl. She’d be great with kids (doesn’t use her claws on the humans, and doesn’t bite beyond a gentle nibble), would be good with other cats – would enjoy having a playful cat to play with – and though she hasn’t been around dogs in her foster home, she’d likely be fine with cat-friendly dogs as well. She’s spayed, ID chipped and up to date on her vaccinations.

We are located in the Huntsville (Alabama) area. Out of area adoptions are allowed, but adopters must come here to complete the adoption, as Lilia is a terrible driver – she’s easily distracted and tends to drive off into the ditch.

A little attitude from Patsy? Just a bit!

Owen’s all “I’ve got it! I’ve got it!” (He didn’t have it.)

Nolan has a rest and a think.

This shot of Patsy in mid-hop is cracking me up.

Lilia’s trying to clean Nolan while Nolan protests, and HERE COMES OWEN.

Nolan in the spaceship, waiting for the mother ship to call him home. Beep boop!

Khal floomping on over to complain at me and to get some pettin’.

The kittens are 8 weeks old! They’re continuing to do great – playing, eating, gaining. They know exactly what it means when I walk toward the Churu desk, waving a Churu in the air and they are THERE for it. (Only Owen can actually get up on the desk so far, but the other two won’t be much longer, I think.) All three are over 2 pounds, and Owen remains the heaviest – link to the weight spreadsheet is right here.

NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS: Lilia is going tomorrow for her last vaccination and her microchip (she’s already been spayed, of course). She is VERY playful and would do best in a home with at least one other playful cat to play with. If she seems like your sweet, silly, cuddly kind of gal, email Forgotten Felines at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire. (FF will not be accepting applications for the kittens until they are 10 weeks old; they just turned 8 weeks old.)

Lilia is such a playful girl!

Lilia says “I MOSTLY fit, and that’s close enough for me.” (Lilia is available for adoption; email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire)

Good night innernets. (Patsy)

I love this account on X. I have a kitten approximately the same age that we found abandoned in our yard. He was very sick and undernourished. 7 ounces at age 4 weeks. (Vet guessed age based on his teeth) He’s doing great now and the spreadsheet is letting me see how close he is getting to normal weight for his age.
