You might have mentioned before and I’ve forgotten, but who is the kitty on your computer?
The picture I use for wallpaper on my monitor is this picture of Tricki, who we fostered in 2014. I LOVED that silly, goofy girl. And if we hadn’t had 14 cats at the time… !

I’ve seriously been thinking about getting a Roomba as well. Which one do you have or recommend?
I have the iRobot Roomba j7+ (7550) . I like it well enough, but I always say that it vacuums about as well as a teenager would – it gets the worst of it in the middle part of the room and close to the edges, but doesn’t do a great job in the corners. I usually vacuum with the “real” vacuum every 1 – 2 weeks to get all the stuff that accumulates in the corners and under the chairs and couch, but the Roomba makes it so that I don’t have to vacuum every couple of days, so I do recommend it. (I just wish it did stairs!) I should add – we also don’t have carpet, it’s all laminate downstairs. I can’t speak to how well it works on carpets.
Side note: we bought the Roomba nearly 3 years ago – Fred and I don’t buy Christmas presents for each other, but buy one big gift “for the house” – and while I hesitated for a LONG time paying that much for something that when it really came down to it we didn’t NEED, I don’t regret the purchase. It does a decent enough job, and also the fosters tend to be wary of it but not terrified…and I live in hope that one of these days one of them will climb on for a ride!

A stinkbug got into my office, and Esmeralda found it the MOST fascinating thing. I think it’s safe to say that she’s a bug hunter. (I did catch it and toss it out the window before she could squish or try to eat it.)

In lieu of permanent resident pics, here are a few pictures from the back yard. (Gardening season is winding down, even though it’s still TOO FRICKING HOT out there.)
Stick bug! This is the first one I’ve seen (that I know of) since we moved into this house.
Silver-spotted Skipper (butterfly) on a Zinnia.
Cicada! I know they’re hideous, but I think they’re cool. And they’re the gentlest bugs who don’t want anything to do with you, either.
Volunteer Cosmos. I know I didn’t drop any seeds, so the Cosmos in the pot up and to the left must have dropped seeds.

Throw Back Thursday: With the Tiny Dancers moving past their hissing phase (there’s still a hiss here and there), I thought I’d share this video of the hissiest litter I’ve ever had: the Cardsharks! Hisses, growls and spits – those kittens were FIERCE.

Throw Back Thursday: It’s been 5 years since we officially adopted Charlie (his foster name was Aramis; we changed it. He didn’t have an identity crisis, as far as I can tell. 😉 ) He would wail and wail if he could hear us on the other side of a door, thus his name became: Charles, Prince of Wails. Here’s a video showcasing his wailing.

The only reason I know that Tango is on the left and Mambo is on the right is because I wrote it down so I’d remember. I still can’t tell them apart if I can’t see Tango’s green ear – though he’s the heavier of the two, so if the paint disappears from his ear, at least I can just pick them up and tell who’s who.
