I have no pictures of Rocco for you today – he’s fine, around all the time, I’ve just been a slacker about taking pictures of him when I see him. I’ll get some before next week!
But I do have some hot gossip for you. Remember Chad, the next door neighbor’s cat, who I don’t like because he comes around and gets Charlie and Khal all riled up? This is the one picture I have of him.
Turns out, his name is actually Skittles. I think he looks like more of a Chad, but he’s not my cat, so whatcha gonna do? Skittles he is, so Skittles I’ll call him.
(I should say, he’s probably a perfectly good cat. I just don’t like the way he strollls along right outside the fence and Charlie and Khal clutch their pearls and get all hissy and growly and yowly at him.)

Napping with kittens. I highly recommend adding a kitten nap into your daily schedule. (Sorry I babbled all through this video and drowned out the purring. I’ll get a purring video at some point where I keep my big mouth shut, I promise!)

Patsy, Nolan and Owen now have the run of the entire house during the day, and they think they like it. (They haven’t had a lot of interaction with the permanent residents yet, mostly because the permanent residents spend most of their day on the back porch.)
I have no idea how Owen managed to get, like, half a tube of Churu on his nose, but I’m sure Nolan (middle) and Patsy (right) will be glad to help clean him up.

I think I’m falling in love with Owen…
I really like how there is someone other thatn me who gives critters (dog, cat, bird) names and that is the name that sticks. The neighbor will be speaking to me about their dog and I will say “Who” and then they say ” my dog” and I will say “Oh yes, Hazel” or whatever name that I give them and Skittles does look more like Chad !!!!!!
I mean, you’ve gotta give them names – how else are you going to gossip about them?! (So much easier to say “Chad’s out there” than to say “the brown tabby cat who lives next door is out there”, right?)

I’m pretty sure Chad/Skittles is purposely strolling around the fence just to get Charlie and Khal to react. We had a neighbor’s cat, Baby (who had the prettiest face I’ve ever seen), who loved to show up in my bedroom window at night just to get our Bruiser to hiss and growl. She wouldn’t make any sound, just sit there and watch poor Bruiser fall apart. I think it was great fun for her.
