ChaCha wore the weansie (weaning onesie) for about 36 hours.

I put it on her, and she fell over – which is what they always do, it takes a little time for them to get acclimated to wearing the weansie.

Flamenco noticed immediately that all was not as it should be.

ChaCha eventually acclimated to wearing it, and eventually got up on top of the cat tree, joined by Flamenco and Mambo, who were SO CONFUSED by their inability to reach the milk bar.
The next morning I took it off her so she could have a break from it, and she was SO HAPPY. She walked around the room, she purred and played and ate and groomed. After an hour, I put it back on her, and it was like it drained every bit of personality out of her. She just meatloafed there with her head down – wouldn’t purr, didn’t want to be petted or held. Poor sweet girl.

I left it on for another few hours, but she just sat there looking miserable, and I couldn’t stand it.
So I took the weansie off. YES, I’m a sucker – but I cannot stand a sad cat and if there’s anything I can do to make that cat NOT sad, I’m gonna do it. So the weansie is off, and once life settles down a bit around here, I’ll figure out a way to give her some time alone without the kittens. She does have high places she can go to get away from them, but she rarely takes advantage of them, so having them constantly trying to nurse can’t be bothering her TOO much.

I wasn’t fast enough to catch a picture or video, but there was a big ol’ mockingbird on that feeder. Maple spotted it from the other end of the house, came FLYING down the hall into my office, and jumped up on the cat tree, but of course by then the mockingbird was GONE. Better luck next time, Maple!

Muffin has remembered the napping routine and is an excellent napping companion, though I did get the Ears of Annoyance for moving around too much.

Mocha – check out the fall colors behind her now! Just four days ago, the tree looked like this (below.)

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky) this weekend.

Sashay, Flamenco and Tango in my lap, and Mambo over there on the cat tree keeping an eye on all of us (because someone’s gotta.)

Mambo was in the tall cat tree, spotted me, and immediately came down so he could come over to bite my slippers.

The kittens are running, jumping, skittering and hippity-hopping! Something for everyone!

PLEASE NOTE: Maple, Mocha, Muffin and Waffle are NOT available for adoption. We’re cat sitting while their family is out of town.
Maple’s hanging out amongst the clouds. Mocha settled in next to me on the couch and said “You may pet me, lady.” Muffin had taken a real liking to that tall scratcher. And Waffle? Why, he’s just sittin’ there bein’ fabulous.

Mambo loves that track ball toy, and Flamenco and Sashay show off their bouncing skills.

Flamenco is prepared to KICK Mambo’s BEHIND.

Mambo’s all “MAMA. Gimme a HUG!”

Now THAT is a delightfully spotted belly. (Tango)

(Maple, Mocha, Muffin & Waffle are NOT available for adoption; we’re cat sitting them while their family is out of town.)
Maple’s all “Look, there’s a weird lady in that room too! What are the odds?” (Maple is former foster Dillydally)
Mocha is SUCH a pretty girl (that smattering of white on the end of her nose is so cute.)
Muffin is SUCH a cutie pie – such a serious face, but such a love. (Muffin is former foster Ouiser)
Waffle prefers to be on top of that cat tree, but when one of his sisters claims the spot, he’s okay with taking a lower level. Such a sweet boy.

This video starts with Mambo playing with ChaCha’s tail and ends with Tango playing with ChaCha’s tail – and in between there’s all kinds of crazypantsing. (I’m waiting for them to discover their OWN tails!)

Sashay’s got her bunny kickers in ready position and is waiting for the perfect moment to deploy them. Mambo has no idea what’s coming!

The kittens say “Wahhhh!” They’re SO talkative when they first wake up. I just adore their sweet little voices.

If you could just find a way to make yourself comfortable, Sashay.

It’s a Tango loaf. (My favorite!)

Good night innernets. (Because they don’t have ONE MILLION beds to curl up in, Flamenco (left) and Sashay have chosen to curl up next to the water bowl. Cue the Sarah McLachlan music. In the arrrrrrms of the angellllll )

It’s been 4 or 5 days since I opened the foster room door to let the Brunch Bunch have the entire upstairs to roam around during the day. The day I opened the door, Maple raced OUT the door, then raced back IN the door and stood there with her tail puffed out. Waffle took about an hour to re-discover my bedroom and enjoyed this tall scratcher by the window. Muffin pretty quickly located my office, and hung out in this scratcher. And Mocha is still spending most of her time in the foster room still, but makes brief trips out to look around.

Flamenco likes to stuff herself between me and the side of the chair and just hang out there.

Whoooo wants a Churu?!

Flamenco says “We tryin’ to nap here, lady.” That’s Mambo next to her, out cold.

They have so much fun playing in and around that spiral tunnel. (I got that tunnel in a quarterly Pusheen Cat Kit Box, but you can find spiral tunnels on Chewy, Amazon, and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen them in Petsmart and Petco as well.)

Sashay with her toes in the air is just the CUTEST. (You better believe after I took this picture, I grabbed her and gave her 1 million kisses.)

ChaCha’s trying to figure out how to open that cabinet where I keep the Churu.

Good night innernets. (Mambo & Flamenco)
