A reminder to all to check out 2014. One of my all-time very favorites.

I have to admit, I re-read it and laughed!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Aww, do you think Pita and Dillydally are going to be a bonded pair?
No, I think Dillydally’s just more confident than her siblings, and is willing to follow Pita around and play with/near her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Oh that’s funny that they come all the way inside to use the litter box instead of just going outside; but that’s totally what I would do too if I were a cat, I’m pretty sure! 🙂

I’m pretty sure I would too! (I consider the upstairs bathroom to be “my” bathroom, and use it almost exclusively, even if there’s a closer bathroom!)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Love the milk coma pic! How did you get so lucky with that shot?!
I just happened to be in the room when it happened, and I took the picture as quickly as I could. And I was lucky, because a few moments later he woke up and rolled onto his side!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It seems Pita understands to show some restraint with the younger kittens, is that true? Enjoy the videos of her and the kittens. Is there a chance to see Carson and Pita and/or Carson with the younger kittens?

Most of the time Pita understands to be less rambunctious with the little ones (you can see that though she smacks AT them, most of the time she doesn’t actually make contact.) But sometimes she gets a little too crazy and tumbles one of them, but most of the time she’s a good girl.

Carson wasn’t allowed in with the little ones – Meander was tolerant of Pita because I think she can tell she’s still a kitten, but I don’t think she would have done well with an adult (recently neutered) male.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Before she had surgery, I put Pita to work and made her deal with the laundry.
She’s an excellent laundry assistant.
And REALLY likes playing with the dryer balls!
Pita update: yesterday she was pretty quiet in the morning and not terribly interested in eating… UNTIL I got out the Churu. Having one kick-started her appetite and while I would have liked to see her eat more, she did well enough. I spent a lot of time in there with her, petting her, and she purred and purred. I think things are going well, though it’s hard to see her so quiet when that is NOT her personality at all! (I know it’s important for her to take things slowly and to be quiet and sleepy and heal. Doesn’t mean I’m not anxious for her to be past this part!)
It’s a Meander pie! My favorite!
It’s a Dillydally from above. Is she not the CUTEST?
“I sees you, lady,” says Mosey.
It’s not Thlurrrpsday, but guess who doesn’t care? Dillydally, that little rebel. She’s gonna thlurrrp when she wants, thank you.
It looks like Bolt is about to throttle Skitter, and Skitter knows he’s back there.
Skip pie? My favorite!
Skitter’s all “What doin’, lady?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I took this picture through the window and through the spindles on the front porch, but I think it came out pretty good. That’s Rocco, laying under the tree and hoping a bird comes hopping by so he can grab it.

(Side note about birds: I no sooner said to Fred the words “Since Trixie stopped hanging out in the garage, we haven’t had any dead birds or mice left by the kitchen door. Obviously she was the hunter!” than Rocco killed a bird and left what looked to be a tiny lung and possibly a heart in a pile of feathers by the kitchen door (that leads into the garage). Guess he told me!)

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.

Breakfast is served! Clockwise from Meander: Bolt, Mosey, Lollygag, Skitter, Dillydally, Skip.

(Meander refuses to eat off of her own plate and prefers to eat with the kittens.)

(This is not a recent picture of Pita, it’s from before her surgery.)

Pita update: she’s doing okay – healing from surgery doesn’t happen overnight, and today she’s quiet and resting.

Throw Back Thursday: Kennebec, from 2013. Regarding eye color (I posted a collage of the Hopalongs kittens’ current eye colors yesterday, if you missed it), the picture on top is what Kennebec’s eyes looked like when he was just over three months old. The picture on the bottom is what his eyes looked like when he was returned (owners were moving) about six months later. So, his eyes weren’t done changing at 3 months, but you could see the permanent color moving out from his pupils. (Kennebec was with us for just a few weeks after his return, and was adopted from Petsmart. While with us the second time around, he earned the nickname “Lunk” because he was such a big lovable goofball.)

Throw Back Thursday: from 2015, when we were fostering Peter (black), Paul (tuxie) and Mary (gray). Mary loved to spit, and I managed to catch her doing so. Look how PLEASED she was when I asked her if she’d spit at me!

Dillydally really likes that track toy!

It’s a Meander-Skip pie! (My favorite!)

Good night innernets. (Skitter)
