Over the weekend, I realized it had been a while since I ran the Roomba (which we’ve had for 3 years and is still going strong!), and in preparation I piled all the toys on the couch.

I’d barely put this tunnel on the couch when Pete climbed in and he and Smitty fought through the tunnel.

Pete says “We LIKE the toys on the couch. They should stay here!”

Smitty in one end of the tunnel.

Smitty would love it if the taco truck was always parked on the couch, but alas. The Roomba finished its job, and all the toys went back onto the floor.

Khal sitting outside Fred’s bedroom window, waiting to be let in. (Yes, there IS a cat door onto the screened porch/ back door just 10 feet to the left. But what fun is that?)

Magoo hanging out with some of his bee friends (2 bees in the upper left corner of the picture.)

Charlie on the table, Khal on the patio behind him. In the 5 years we’ve lived here, I’ve sat at that table maybe three times. It gets daily use from the cats, though, and that’s what’s important.

Rocco and the existential angst.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky/Threads) this weekend.

My office assistant (Pete) likes to hang out on my keyboard protector and flick his floofy tail at me. RUDE.

🎉 Former foster Rupert (formerly Richie, 2024) is just STUNNING, isn’t he? Look at that shiny fur and those gorgeous markings! (Thanks, Sharon!)

⏪THE DAILY REWIND ⏪ Back in 2008, Detectives Thomas J. Cullen and Stanley J. Boogerton had a FASCINATING mystery to solve. Read it here.

Magoo likes to watch the birds flitting around on the Nandina bush outside my window. (Edit: It’s a Privet, not a Nandina. Not that anyone but me (and Fred) cares, I’m sure. 🙂 )

Morning play time with Smitty, Magoo and Pete. (I love it when Magoo and Smitty chase each other!)

All the cats really like this “Hide and Seek” toy, and Smitty doesn’t care whether it’s turned on or not, he still plays with it. (There’s an “arm” that drags a toy mouse under the “skirt”, and the butterfly sticking out of the top flits back and forth. It’s made by Potaroma)

Good night innernets. (Smitty)

At 6:05, Pete and Smitty were all “Lady, it is morning and we is starvin’. Time for you to get up and feed us!”

🎉 Former foster Dahlia (formerly Hazel, 2025) and her big brother Dandelion. Isn’t it a little early for these two to have already busted up the bar and to be ready to bust each others’ faces? I guess it IS Saturday, so anything goes. (The loose cord was removed, no need for concern!) (Thanks, Tabatha!) PS: You can see these two and their siblings at Kitty Biscuits and Other Things !

⏪THE DAILY REWIND⏪ A montage of spitting kittens, from 2015 to 2025. It’s long (nearly 5 minutes!) but worth watching because those kittens are CUTE.

I was working at my computer when Pete and Smitty came to suggest it was time for a nap. Well… if you insist!

Tossing ping pong balls for Smitty & Pete. Those boys can JUMP!

Good night innernets. (Pete, always a wound-up ball of stress.)

🎉 Former fosters Dahlia (torbie Hazel, 2025) and Cosmos (house panther Monty, 2025). They were super cute kittens, but my GOODNESS didn’t they grow up to be gorgeous! (Thanks, Tabatha @ Kitty Biscuits and Other Things ! )

⏪THE DAILY REWIND⏪ From 2016, Levine works on his cabriole, which is messy and needs a lot of work, obviously.

Smitty and Pete, guarding the stairs. A kitten’s work is never done!

🎉 Former foster Cassandra and her sister Poppy. Sarah said: ” I seriously can’t with these two!!! Cassandra is everything Poppy could ever want in a bestie.” Aren’t they the CUTEST? I love it! (Thanks, Sarah!)

Good night innernets. (The fabulously floofy Khal.)

The 2008 rewind was marvelous – the storyline had me clutching my pearls through the very end!
