It was time to change out the bedding in the crate again so of course I piled the kittens in the pie plate, and Calliope said “What? That doesn’t go THERE.”
I think it is very interesting that it’s almost always Zephyr she picks up to carry into the crate. Is he her favorite? Is he less wiggly than the others, making him easier to carry? Is he just brighter and more eye-catching? Who knows. I think she’s picked up a kitten and carried him into the crate four or five times, and the only other kitten I’ve seen her carry is Zeus.

She pottied Zephyr while I piled the other kittens into the crate. (Did she choose him because he needed to be pottied? So many possibilities!)

I love the way she has her tail draped across Zeus.

Line ’em up! From left: Cassandra, Zephyr, Zeus, Daphne and Pandora.

Calliope’s spending more time out of the crate, which I really like seeing. She spent ALL her time in the crate for the first week, so it’s nice to see her out of the crate and relaxing.
The kittens are continuing to do well – eyes are continuing to open at various rates. Except for Daphne, everyone has lost their umbilical cord – that usually happens around day three or four, but I’ve had kittens hold onto theirs for as long as three weeks (I’d tell you who, but I don’t remember) and there’s no swelling, draining or redness, so I’m not too concerned. It’ll come off when it’s time.

The way Tortellini is hanging off the cat tree (near the top) cracks me UP.

Uncle Magoo checks out the view while Pierogi takes a bath.

I’m not sure Uncle Magoo is as into that hug as Pierogi is, but okay.

Magoo is the head snoopervisor in charge.
Someone came to the house yesterday to work on our fridge (the ice maker stopped dispensing, and given that we’ve lived here for 5 years now, I’m sure IT’S TIME FOR ALL THE APPLIANCES TO BREAK DOWN. We just replaced our washer and dryer a few weeks ago, so who knows what’s next?)
Anyway.
So a stranger came to the house yesterday and I was curious to see how the kittens would react. Turns out Tortellini went stomping over to check him out and be petted. Pierogi was too busy playing, and Wonton was snoozing upstairs. None of them seemed any too concerned, which I was glad to see.

Charlie with his paw over his eyes is THE DANG CUTEST.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky/Threads) yesterday.

I was taking a picture of Wonton in the sun and didn’t realize Tortellini wanted to be in the shot, too. So here are Wonton and Tortellini in the sun!

Pandora’s eyes are slowwwly creaking open. She’s not sure she likes what she sees.

1 minute of Wonton purring. ❤️ (He is still available for adoption and is the sweetest little snuggler ever. Email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire.)

“Laundry’s done, lady.” My laundry assistants have folded and put away the laundry, so now they get to play in the laundry basket. Them’s the rules! (My laundry assistants – gray and white Tortellini (left), cream and white Wonton (right) and King of the Basket Pierogi are still available for adoption. INFO (at) FFHSV.ORG to inquire.)

The calicos (Pandora mostly, with some assistance from Cassandra) show off their hissing skills.

Zeus was nursing in his sleep and it was adorable, but this shot looks more like a horror movie reaction.

🎉 Former foster Cosmos (formerly Monty) is out cold, Marigold (not a former foster, but we love her anyway ❤️) is too, and Dahlia (formerly Hazel) is just so darned pleased with herself. Also, the new tunnel is a hit with these guys! Now I feel the need to go take a nap. 😴 (Thanks, Tabatha!)

Good night innernets. (Zephyr)

My Teddy likes to sleep with his arm over his eyes, too — I have about a billion pictures of him doing it!
Yes, once one appliance goes out, others follow. It could be worse — my sister and her husband had to get a new roof last week (with no insurance coverage — just an old roof that had reached its limit) and this week their a/c went out!
the babies look good and plump!
Mama knows the orange boys occasionally need more help than others…sharing the brain cell tends to cause that. She knows 😉
