In case you missed it on social media yesterday, this guy:
had his last dose of FIP meds yesterday! That’s 84 days, done. Now we begin 84 days of monitoring.
Rum will finish his FIP meds on May 5th, so he’s still got a way to go.
(An unintended side effect of all the pills we’ve had to give these guys over the past three months is that they are the EASIEST cats to pill.)

I bought this Peeps Easter basket in hopes that it would make a good danglebase for Rum. Unfortunately, it’s too tall for those purposes.

He does, however, find it quite comfy.

And it’s perfectly sized for him to curl up in, so at least there’s that. (I did cut the strap off so I wouldn’t have to worry.)

Over the weekend, we opened the door at the top of the stairs and let Rum and Reverb start exploring the rest of the house. They were wary at first, but it didn’t take long.

Rum found the back of the couch comfy.

And got to know his Uncle Khal.

The size difference is pretty funny. (Rum is 5.75 pounds/2.61 KG. Khal is 16.75 pounds/7.6 KG.)
Khal was pretty much okay with Rum and Reverb, and Charlie dislikes them both – which is pretty much how it usually goes with older kittens around here – so we have to supervise when they’re running around downstairs. Charlie seems to particularly dislike Rum, I suspect because Rum isn’t deferential to him the way Reverb is.

The other night I was lying in bed reading, and suddenly heard this very loud slurping sound. It went on – and on and ON – so I finally turned on the light and sat up to see Charlie enjoying the catnip banana Reverb had left near my bed.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky/Threads) yesterday.

🎉Former fosters Emmylou (formerly Matilda) and Arlo (Nigel) are enjoying the sunshine. What a great view! ❤️ (Thanks, Bethany!)

🎉 Former foster Dahlia (formerly Hazel) had a self-care morning yesterday, taking very good care of her nails. Then she curled up for a nap with her brother Cosmos (formerly Monty), effectively pinning Tabatha in place because as we all know, one does not disturb a sleeping cat! 😴(Thanks Tabatha!)
