Is it just me or does Clover seem like he’s always sleepy? LOL!

Despite not being an orange tabby, Clover has a serious orange tabby, surfer-dude laid-back vibe. He’s always up for rolling around in the sun, halfheartedly batting at a toy, or having a snooze. He does play like a little wild thing occasionally – I swear he does! – but I’m rarely able to catch it on video. (He also seems to be on a different schedule than his siblings – he wants to sleep when they want to play, and vice versa.)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’ve noticed this before and just have to say that I love the little spice shelf steps that lead to the sleeping cabinet. It’s a very cute and clever way to use it.
Aren’t those great? I got my first set of those steps – the little wooden ones – years and years ago from my friend Winnie (who also fosters for Forgotten Felines). That set worked out so well that I bought several more, and I love using them with each litter. At this point, these guys really don’t need them – they’re jumping OVER the steps to leave the cabinet now – but I like having them there as an option. Just in case!
At what age do the kittens start purring when you pet them? Have they already?
The kittens are purring here and there, but only for a few seconds at a time. In my experience, they don’t really start purring for me until they’re separated from their mother – and then they purr constantly! It’s like she does the purring for them all, and then when mama has moved on, the kittens have to take up the purring.
I can’t believe it has been 6 years a few days ago since Stinkerbelle passed on (2016 post). She sure was her own top-of-the-kitchen-cabinet-dwelling cat, wasn’t she. And so devoted to Tommy.
I can’t believe it’s been 6 years either! (Her page is here for anyone wanting to read about her.) She was certainly one of a kind, and lived life on her own terms. And what a gorgeous girl!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Tell me you didn’t arrange those three on the steps! So cute!

The kittens have reached the stage where they won’t stay anywhere I put them. They’re still a bit young to be up high on the desk for a group picture, so if I see them in a particularly cute position or all 5 of them piled up together, I rush right over to take their picture because I know it’s not going to last. They’re always either racing around or sound asleep; there’s very little in-between.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Are their eyes changing color sooner than normal? It seems like it takes much longer for them to change; I haven’t been able to languish in the blue nearly long enough.
They’re changing pretty much right on schedule. I usually notice their eyes lightening around 3 – 3 1/2 weeks. I think Kudzu’s eyes changed the fastest – I swear, one day they were blue, the next they were green. They never stay blue for nearly long enough.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The video of you yawning for the kittens worked. I had to yawn before it was over. Also, in the last picture, Clover looks a lot like a sand cat.

That video makes me yawn, too!

I think Clover looks like a sand cat too – not only his coloring, but his ears are kind of wide-set and his face is kind of a sideways oval. I wish Mimosa would tell us about her wild night with the sexy sand cat boy!

Kudzu and Clover on the taco bed. (I put that bed there so that if any of them were up on the couch, they’d have a soft place to land – that bed is very soft. Instead, they leap down PAST the bed, of course. What was I thinking?!)

Clover lookin’ pouty.

Mimosa is like “Excuse me, young man, the milk bar is open. Get over here!”

“Yeah, okay, I suppose the seating IS a little crowded.”

Hollyhock likes this scratcher.

Clover likes this Toastycat bed, but only for short periods of time.

Bramble and Hollyhock have a wrassle.

And Kudzu and Hollyhock have some relaxation!

Charlie wonders if it’s ever going to stop raining and storming and just BE SUNNY. (Okay, Charlie doesn’t care. But I sure would like a couple of weeks of plain ol’ sunshine.)

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.

I caught it! Bramble went walking by with the rat toy in his mouth, and I managed to catch a picture of it. I am amazed that he can carry that thing, it’s nearly as big as he is.

Mondo went racing by, and Clover felt it was best to don his floof suit for a bit.

Throw Back Thursday: from early 2016, when we were fostering the Coaches. When Levine came out of the litter closet, I tossed a toy to him, expecting that he’d chase it and maybe bat it across the room. I did not expect THIS reaction, and it cracks me UP every time.

Hollyhock in the sun, havin’ a think.

Throw Back Thursday: In April of 2021 we were fostering Canasta and her kittens (the Cardsharks). One evening I was feeding them their canned food, and Fred and Uncle Charlie were waiting for them to finish eating so they could play with them. Fred – FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON – decided to start whistling, and a moment later I closed a drawer. This started a Category Six Kittenado that scattered to all the corners of the room. Fortunately, I was able to stitch together video from three Nest cameras to show the Kittenado is all its glory (my particular favorite is Uncle Charlie’s reaction to the scattering kittens.) Fred was of the opinion that I’d caused it to happen by closing the drawer, thus his “That was you!” in response to my turning and looking at him. (Yes, that blurred spot on the couch is Fred.)

It’s a snuggly basket full o’ snuggly kittens. Every home needs one!

Good night innernets. (This is, indeed, the cabinet where they were born. When they started checking it out, I put a bed in there, and they nearly immediately abandoned the crate for this bed in the cabinet.)
