Time to let me know if you want a holiday card, with this year’s featured Crooked Acre permanent resident! Go here to Postable, enter your name and address, and your card will be on the way soon. I am happy to send cards to other countries, this is NOT limited to U.S. residents. If you have any problems, drop me an email and I’ll do my best to fix it. I’ll take names and addresses until December 20th.
If you’d like to send me a card as well (never ever required, but always appreciated – I don’t keep track of who does or doesn’t send a card, I promise!), send it to:
Robyn Anderson

(PS: If that link doesn’t work for you, or you prefer not to enter your info (I delete your name and address once I’ve downloaded it), you can email me instead.)

While you’re doing your Black Friday shopping – IF you’re doing your Black Friday shopping! – don’t forget: THE 2025 CALENDARS ARE AVAILABLE. There are EIGHT calendars this year – one that encompasses all the fosters, one for each set of fosters (Magnolias2023, the Ducklings, the Crumbs, the Hopalongs, the Chefs (including Natalie) and a whole calendar devoted to Natalie), and one with the permanent residents. I had to sort through around 3,500 pictures to make these calendars – and I hope that you see something that strikes your fancy. You can click on each image below to go directly to that calendar, or click here to see all of them. You have lots of choices – I default to the medium calendar when I’m creating them, but you can go bigger or smaller – just be careful and take your time and check out all the options.
Zazzle has a presence in other countries – check here to see if yours is one of them. If so, you can add store/loveandhisses on the end of the url to look at the calendars and have them sent to you from your own country (which should be cheaper than having them shipped from the US.)
Zazzle almost always has deals going on where you can save money on your purchases. As of yesterday if you enter the code ZBLKFRIDAY24, you’ll save 40% (I think it’s actually automatically applied).
(There are links in the sidebar, and of course I’ll mention calendars regularly through to about mid-January, as always.)

“With Charlie being a bully (especially toward adult female cats)…” So I guess this means that Tina will have to stay upstairs and not have the run of the house after the kittens are gone?
That’s correct – but she will have the run of the entire upstairs, so I think she’ll be okay. (I may bring her downstairs to the dining room occasionally, though.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have you or anyone else on here tried the Churu Pops? Our furkids love them just as much or more than the others(Being the spoiled babies they are of course they get both in a rotation LOL) and they’re not as messy. They’re also good to hide small pills in.
I have not – but I will check them out!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good grief, the kittens are nearly as big as Tina! Is she just that tiny or are they just that big?
She’s pretty small – and they’re getting pretty big! Last time I weighed her, she was a little more than 7 pounds. At his neuter, Carmy weighed 4 1/2 pounds. I think he’s going to be a big boy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As does Richie. (Yes, they got a few small pieces of turkey and liked it quite a bit!)
That’s the good stuff, apparently. (Carmy’s serious little face kills me.)
In the past few days, instead of splitting up Tina and the kittens during the day, I started just letting them all have the run of the upstairs all day long. It took them about two days to “discover” the bathroom, but apparently the bathroom is WHERE IT’S AT. They love to yank the bath mat onto the floor and snooze there.
There were wasps (well, I don’t think they were actual wasps, but we call all buzzing things that look like they might sting “wasps”) outside the bathroom window, and Tina jumped up onto the window sill to check them out.
Well. I didn’t want her to get up there and FALL, so…
Now a tall scratcher lives in the bathroom so she can sit comfortably and look into the back yard.
Sometimes the kittens join her.
Tina was all “LADY. Stop taking PICTURES and give us the Churu!”
And Jeff said “YEAH, you heard her! Give us the Churu!” (So of course I did. I’m not a monster.)
Charlie went to the vet the other day for his yearly checkup. He was nervous, but by the time the vet was done, he was rolling around on his back purring like crazy. He’s healthy but has gained a pound in the past year – he now weighs 20.69 pounds (9.38 KG) – so it’s about time to add some exercise to his day and cut back on the food rations a bit.
Rocco also went to the vet at the same time (I didn’t get any pictures of him, though). He’s also healthy, weighs 15.69 pounds, and it’s funny how Charlie weighs 5 pounds more but Rocco looks bigger. Charlie is a much larger-framed cat, so I know that makes a difference.
Charlie needs a dental cleaning, but Rocco’s teeth are perfect. Maybe his other family brushes his teeth every night.
PS: I wish I’d made a video because Charlie’s voice really CARRIES when he’s registering a complaint about being in the carrier.
My calendars have arrived, and as always they are wonderful! I appreciate that the card stock used is so heavy that I can make notations on the dates without damaging the photo on the other side. And of course, the photos of the kittens–and the permies–are the best! Thank you for doing all the work to make them.
I’m so glad you like them! 🙂
“Now a tall scratcher lives in the bathroom…” — well it was the only reasonable thing to do!! 🙂
Oh my heart – 2023’s Dewey tribute.
Glad that Charie is healthy overall! (And Rocco too… teeth and all, hehe)
I’m glad I found you on BlueSky! I’d given up on tweeting.
Dear Robyn,
In Canada, the post workers are on strike. So, I don’t know if I will be able to send you a card in time for the hollidays this year. 🙁 I won’t ask for your card either until they are back to work, if it is before December 20th. So I will wish you and Fred and the Permanent residents (and Rocco…) Happy Hollidays now! Much foster kittens for 2025!
