I have another one of my just curious questions. How do you manage all the cat litter you need for so many cats and kittens? Do you have it delivered? Do you have a box for each cat plus one more like the cat experts advise? I’m assuming the permanent residents go outside since they have that access right?

I have 3 very large litter boxes – they’re tall storage containers – inside the house (2 in the hall bathroom, 1 in the laundry room) and 1 on the screened porch. I think you can get away with fewer litter boxes if you scoop often (and I scoop 3 – 4 times a day. Which might sound like a lot, but I doubt it takes more than 5 minutes altogether.) You would THINK that the permanent residents, hanging out outside, would just use the lawn, right? NOPE. They’ll be outside and come not JUST to the screened porch, but all the way inside to the hall bathroom to use the litter box.

I usually buy my litter at Petsmart, but if I’m really low I’ll order a bunch from Chewy. (I always feel guilty when I order a bunch to be delivered, though – I feel so sorry for the FedEx delivery person!)

Are any of the Hopalongs eyes showing any signs of changing colour? It would be great if they stayed blue, as they seem to all have some siamese in them.

This is what they looked like a week ago. They haven’t changed much more since then. I’ll try to get updated eye pictures to post next week.

Time to do the laundry with Pita! First we hang out in a pile of warm laundry…

And then we bunny-kick the t-shirts into submission.

Once the laundry is put away, we stare off into space with the tip of our tongue hanging out. It’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it.

I feel very judged right now. (From left: Skip, Lollygag and Mosey.)

It’s a Lollygag pie. (My favorite!)

Pita was running back and forth on the couch, and captured their attention. (From left: Mosey, Dillydally, Lollygag (front) and Bolt.)

Now it’s a Meander pie. (My favorite!)

Sleepy in the sun (Skip, left, and Skitter).

Bolt’s deep in thought.

Pita wanted to be in the picture and had a lot to say about it.

When did those tiny kittens turn into these miniature cats who are all ears and legs?

If you could just relax, Rocco.

Rocco has recently been getting to have some time in the back yard hanging out with Fred. Charlie doesn’t love it, but he’s tolerating it. Rocco won’t ever become an indoor cat – he does actually have owners who are not us, after all – but it’s nice to have Charlie tolerating him after two years of hysterics.

Speaking of the front porch/garage cats (Rocco and Trixie), Trixie has apparently decided that we are no longer her kind of people. Rocco’s still around all the time, but we only catch the occasional glimpse of Trixie, and she’s no longer showing up for breakfast. She hasn’t lost weight – in fact, I think she’s gained weight* – so I’m not worried about her.

*She’s been spayed, so slow your roll. She’s not pregnant.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.

Throw Back Thursday: Pita then and now. On the top, in the Fruitasan on March 21st (left) and May 31st. On the bottom, in the pink Adirondack on April 8th (left) and May 31st.

Former fosters! We have a 2 headed cat comprised of Phoenix (bottom – fostered in 2017) and Amber (formerly Ambercup, fostered in 2015). Now THAT is a pile of cute.

With the little kittens all sleeping, Pita’s trying to make her own trouble… uh, FUN. She’s trying to make her own fun. Meander is still trying to puzzle out where this giant kitten came from!

Skitter seems to be havin’ a thought.

Literally the FIRST TIME I leave her alone in the foster room with the Hopalongs so I can run downstairs and grab some laundry, this happens. She said the Fruitasan came to life and attacked her, but I have my doubts.

“You tawkin’ to me?” asks Skip.

Good night innernets. (Dillydally, who really likes to drape one leg over her siblings, and Skip.)
