I love Natalie’s half-black lower lip.

Considering her next step.

Time for some pettin’!

Honestly, I do not believe we’re anywhere near seeing kittens. Last night when I was lying on the couch reading, she jumped up next to me, and then curled up on my stomach. I felt one short movement that COULD have been a kitten, but also COULD have been her moving a little, so I’m not seeing/feeling alien belly yet. She doesn’t look miserable enough or feel lumpy enough to be close to giving birth, and her milk is not in (though in my experience milk sometimes waits to come in until they’re actually in labor.)

Her appetite is great (sometimes their appetite drops off in the day or two before they go into labor; sometimes not!) and she’s not picky at all, which is nice.

I haven’t been able to get her interested in playing, but yesterday morning when I walked in there was a toy mouse where none had been before, so I guess she did a little playing in the middle of the night.

Lastly: we’re calling this litter the Chefs, even though all the characters in the show may not be chefs (Natalie isn’t!) When I gave Fred the list of choices, he chose the Chefs or the Cubs, but then Katherine left a list of excellent bear names in yesterday’s comments, so I’m saving that list (and the litter name “Cubs”) for a future litter.

Khal atop the hill in the back yard (there’s a storm shelter under that hill), having a complaint.

While technically not a “sploot” (research indicates that in a true sploot position the legs are stretched out behind), I think Natalie’s pregnancy variation is close enough.

Did I mention that Natalie is a talker? Her sweet, husky voice is just the BEST.

Good night innernets. (Natalie)
