Edited to add, 6 pm: Meander came through her spay just fine, and I just got home with Pita. Pita is still quite loopy and out of it – she’s confined to a crate for at least now (and possibly a couple of days). I am happy to have that surgery behind us!

Pita’s just hanging out in the Tastefuls box. Any low-sided cardboard box you put on the floor, Pita is IN it in no time flat.

The milk bar got up, walked a little distance away and flopped back down, and the row of kittens are wondering what happened. (From left: Mosey, Skip (or Skitter), Skitter (or Skip), Bolt and Meander.
Dillydally’s all “Lady, there are birds out there. Bring me one.”
Skitter says “Ain’t skeered of you, Miss Pita.”
The entire reason there are two cat trees under that window: they love to walk on the window sill, and I live in terror that they’ll slip and fall to the floor. This way, if they do stumble and fall, they don’t go far before they land on a cat tree shelf.

Meander is going for her spay today, and Pita is off for her surgery to correct her Patent Urachus. Fingers crossed that all goes well and tonight they’re home doing well and healing! I will be so glad to have today done and over with.

Pita would love it if Meander would play with her. Meander’s all “Not gonna happen, kid, but it’s good to have dreams.”
(I’ve removed that bee toy from the room because I could just imagine Pita chewing the antennae off and swallowing them and it’s better to be safe than sorry.)
Pita’s a slacker. Pita also has an adopter, and is adoption pending. We’re just getting her through surgery before making plans for her to go home.
I don’t know why with every foster, someone demands that we keep them, but NO. I love each and every foster with my entire heart, and while I might momentarily miss them when they are adopted, I am truly happy to send them home. We ARE NOT their forever home – we’re just a brief stopover on their way to Happy Ever After.

With the rest of the kittens sleeping, Skitter and Bolt are wide awake and playing. (Skitter is a HUGE fan of the mylar balls, as you can see.)
I thought Pita might join them, but not this time!
Dillydally looks so appalled. “Madame, PLEASE. I am simply chilling in my ToastyCat bread bed. Is this truly a noteworthy event?”

Playing, jumping, and skittering, oh my! The kittens have reached their hopping and skittering and jumping stage, and it’s so much fun to watch! (Even Pita gets so caught up in watching them that she forgets to join in.)
