Robyn- if you get a spare minute, could we get a side-by-side of Janeway and Purslane? (I FINALLY remembered the name of the Weeds kitten she reminded me of.) Thank you.

Purslane on the left, Janeway on the right. I definitely see a resemblance!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Weird question but do you think kittens poop more than cats? Maybe because of a quicker metabolism? My elderly cat recently passed away and I adopted two kittens. I am stunned by the amount of poop they are producing! It is formed and looks fine, but they both seem to poop multiple times a day.
Kittens DEFINITELY poop more than adults. It is absolutely amazing how much output there is, isn’t it?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

How did ultra-mom Uhura react to Troi being stuck in the Croc bed? Curious whether she was distressed or just trusted you to get her kitten out.

We actually got it dealt with so fast that I’m not sure Troi realized there was a problem – and because she wasn’t scared or upset, Uhura didn’t even seem to notice there was an issue.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Do your cats still bring you gifts from the outside? My old cat was always bringing home lizards.
You know, it’s been a long time since we’ve gotten a gift from the outside. Our best hunters (Kara and Stefan) are gone now, and the remaining permanent residents just aren’t that interested in hunting.
The other day when I was in the back yard, I saw Khal with something in his mouth that, judging by the size and the angry buzzing, I thought was a hummingbird. I ran over to save it from him, and found that it was a cicada. He dropped it when he saw me approaching, and it flew off. A few days later, he was stalking something under the Nandina right behind the screened porch, and when I went to see what he was doing, it was another cicada (or I don’t know, maybe it was the same cicada, they all look alike to me). He was just about to pounce when I distracted him, but I think we can take it as a given that one day soon we’ll have a cicada in the house.
We have a gorgeous blue-tailed skink living in one of the potted plants outside (it races away every time I water but it’s back in the pot the next time); the cats will just sit there and watch it race by them, without even the slightest bit of interest.
HOWEVER, the two front porch/neighbor’s cats Trixie and Rocco are excellent hunters and every so often they catch something and leave it by the front door, so they’re the hunters around here.
While Uhura was off being spayed, Uncle Charlie came to visit the kittens.
Troi stomped right over, got in Charlie’s face, and never lost eye contact with him while she donned her floof suit.
Then Janeway came monkey-walking over to see what was going on.
She got right in Charlie’s face and they sniffed noses for a long time.
Then as he walked away, she floofed.
Kirk had pressing business on the back of the couch, so watched from there.
Janeway and Troi followed Charlie around while wearing their very best floof suits.
Spock, who had been eating, realized something was going on and had to come investigate. And just like that, he decided to match his sisters and put on his floof suit, too.
Charlie went to check out the food, and Spock gave me this “He’s eating my food, lady” look.
Charlie went to look in the mirrors, and Kirk came down from the couch to give him a sniff.
I love that you can see Charlie and Janeway’s faces in the mirror. Meanwhile, Kirk arched up and tucked his tail.
Kirk’s all “Not foolin’ around, Mister.”
Then Charlie left the room while Spock and Troi watched from a distance.
Spock wore his floof suit for a while longer before putting it away.
Did you notice that Kes isn’t in this series of pictures? That’s because when Charlie came into the room, she was sitting on the little blue cat tree. She took one look at him, said “I’m not going over THERE,” curled up with her back to the room, and went to sleep.
All in all, it was a calm introduction. Janeway very clearly wanted to be friends with Charlie (she was fascinated by him) and I suspect that eventually the others will be more curious than timid. I think it’s nearly time for the little ones to start going on field trips downstairs so they can meet the permanent residents. (The whole family will start having the run of the upstairs early next week, I think.)
Uhura came back from her spay surgery yesterday mid-morning, and I rolled video expecting at least one kitten (SPOCK) to hiss or floof at her, but… NOPE. They just followed her around, sniffed her, checked out the carrier, and life resumed as normal. (The video is in the social media section below.)
After all that excitement, Charlie needed a nap.
Troi pie for breakfast? Yes, please! (My favorite!)
Uhura’s home from her spay. All went well, the kittens are happy to see her (and vice versa) – and none of the kittens are hissing. Honestly, I’m not even sure they realized she was gone.
Throw Back Thursday: From 2014, foster kitten Jon Snow kept trying to show Stefan who the boss was, and Stefan was just like “Alright, whippersnapper, whatever you say.”
Kirk seems to really like those spring toys, but he’ll also play with just about any toy he sees. Don’t miss the quick arch-and-twirl when Kes shows up.
Good night innernets. (Spock, and yes – he is sound asleep.)
    Love the vid of Uhura coming home. All those little ones coming to greet her and just hang with her is so adorable.
    I don’t think there’s anything they do that wouldn’t be adorable.
    Must be something about torties and their fascination with Charlie. I can’t find it now, but I seem to recall a video of Cricket/Jenny following him around too.
