Ivy went home on Friday, and I only have a couple of pictures I hadn’t already shared. Here she is in her pie plate…

Ivy pie! My favorite!

On the big cat tree. She spent the majority of the morning sitting on the cat tree looking out the window. As though she knew her new mama was going to be arriving at any moment? Perhaps!

Someone asked in Friday’s comments if I could share pictures of Ivy’s new siblings – Jessica, d’Artagnan, and Porthos – and I’m happy to do so.

First up is Jessica (she’s now Jolene). She was adopted on Friday as well! She was fostered by another Forgotten Felines foster parent, so I never met her but by all reports she’s a total sweetheart.

As for their other siblings, the former Love & Hisses fosters d’Artagnan and Porthos, here they are.

Here they are with their litter, the Mewsketeers, in October 2020! Left to right: d’Artagnan, Aramis, Porthos, Rochefort, Athos and Constance. (They also had Planchet and Winter in their litter, but they’d already been adopted when I took this picture.)

You now know Aramis as Charles, Prince of Wails, aka Charlie, aka Uncle Charlie. And you now know Constance and Rochefort as Oleander and Rhus, especially if you’re following them on Facebook.

I have a lot of favorite pictures of d’Artagnan and Porthos; here are three of them.

And here’s a picture from a few weeks ago (that I saved and never got around to sharing).

Porthos and d’Artagnan wrestle hard and snuggle hard.

So that’s who Ivy will be getting to know in the days and weeks to come!

We still don’t have new fosters yet, but we’re working on it and hopefully it won’t be much longer.

Newt’s all “Really, lady?”

Ivy’s checking her look in the mirror. ❤️

Hooray, hooray, Ivy was adopted today! She joins former fosters Porthos and d’Artagnan in her new home in Kentucky AND is gaining a sister in the form of Forgotten Felines of Huntsville kitty Jessica, too! Happy life, sweet girl. ❤️

Yesterday Ivy was adopted and went home. Here’s the video of pictures I took while she was with us.

A lot of people have asked how I can bear to let her go (people ask that with every foster). We’ve been fostering since 2005 and Ivy was foster #457 – that’s a lot of goodbyes. They’ve been part of my life for months (sometimes since the minute they were born), I’ve loved them with my entire heart, and then comes time for them to move on. Of course I miss them and get a little sad, but how wonderful for them that they get to go on to their happily ever after. I know from the minute I meet them that I’m not their endpoint, I’m just a step along the way. Like Hannah Shaw (Kitten Lady) says, goodbye is the goal of fostering. I consider myself incredibly lucky to get to be part of the process.
