This is what Bitsy (over there on the left, by the blue bag of clay litter) and Barney were doing the first few days after I brought them home. He was just chilling – and perfectly happy to be pulled out so he could be snuggled – but she was hiding.

She’s not hiding any more, though. I can barely get in the room with them before she’s squeaking at me, demanding that I sit down so she can sit in my lap.

Bitsy keeps a close eye on her brother.

When she’s not busy taking a bath, that is.

She’s one clean little monkey.

Barney loves him some feather teaser.

Bitsy just watches him like she’s thinking “Can’t you sit down and be a gentleman?”

He can’t help it. He’s a wild thing!

Sometimes, though, Bitsy can’t help it. She gets overwhelmed and has to take a swipe at the teaser herself, even if it’s nowhere near her.

Sungold in the cat tree.

I love how Corbie’s running over to see what’s going on (and Sugarbutt on the table.)

This picture is chock-full of permanent residents. Corbie, Jake, Miz Poo, Sugarbutt, and Alice (over on the arm of the couch, peeking over the back) are all present.

I guess Sungold is more interested in the back of the couch than Da Bird.

More clearing out of the Permanent Residents picture folder. Today, Tommy!

He’s an observer, that Tom.

Just such a pretty, pretty boy.

Aww Tommy What a handsome house panther he is!

Methinks Barney (indeed a wild thang) could very well become Crooked Acres next anti-gravity feline! Much to the shock and emarassment of his sister Bitsy, of course. She’s a proper girl!

Soooooooo happy for Sungold and Mr. Stripey….and their new family!

      That’s right, Bitsy is a laydee! ๐Ÿ™‚

Tommy is looking particularly hunky, isn’t he? Happy Boxing Day to all at Crooked Acres — and may there be some excellent new cardboard jobbies to colonize!

Bitsy sounds like she has you well trained at this point. I’m glad she and her brother are less afraid… and that Barney enjoys jumping so.

I also had to enlarge the photos to find all the cats! For a minute, I thought the paper bag on the back of the couch was a giant cat! It’s the folded bit which looks like an ear that did it, I think…

And Hi Tommy! Aren’t you the whole sleak package? Meeee-owwwwwwwww!

The permanent residents in the one photo made me think of the “hidden pictures” feature in the newspapers!
Nice to have kitties in the foster room again, too.

I love that we have a brother and sister duo again. Reminds me of sweet Charlie and Patty Peppers!

Awww, I loved Charlie and Patty. I bet they’re happy as can be in their forever homes. I love seeing pictures of them from last year. ๐Ÿ™‚

what a bunch of cuties…. I love it when you take a picture of one and discover you actually had MANY in the shot. ๐Ÿ™‚

OK, so how do you tell Tommy and Maxi apart?

It makes me laugh when I see pictures of the Permanent Residents inside the house. It’s always like one of those games you see on the back of cereal boxes (“How many Sugar Blops can you find in the picture below?!!”), except with cats.

Maxi is a much smaller cat. She’s also got a white “locket”, and she doesn’t come inside very often. But when she does, she hisses and swipes at any cats who look at her sideways, which is NOT Tommy behavior! ๐Ÿ™‚

Aww,sweet babies. I got that same feather teaser my cats for Christmas. My 13 year old cat, Toby, absolutely loved it. It was good to see him so happy. He had been depressed this past month since we had to say goodbye to our 14 year old dog, Sam. They were best friends.
I was reading today’s post on my tablet at a diner and the waitress saw the pictures of Tommy and thought he was a bear. I didn’t remember until later that he used to be called Bear. Just thought that was kinda funny.

Aw Bitsy and Barney – how cute! I had a kitty, Valerie – who has since passed on to the rainbow bridge – who was a very dignified little lady too. Very polite, quiet and refined, during her whole 18 years with me. She was an angel and so well behaved. Every once in awhile, I could get her to play and she get a little whippy, but then would look so embarassed that she acted so undignified-like, that it would make me laugh!

Tommy! Siiiigh. What a gorgeous, sleek boy. No wonder Stinkerbelle swoons at the sight of him!

Great action shots! Especially the “wild thing”. And Princess Bitsy is so adorable!
