Can you tell which three things are not like the others…

By the time I finish my song?

So yes, as you might have guessed, the Spice Girls have gotten the run of the house along with the McMaos. It is, let me tell you, utter madness. But it’s also kind of delightful. I let them out in the morning, and then at bedtime we put the McMaos in the guest bedroom and the Girls in the foster room. We discussed putting all of them in one room, but I think it’s best to keep them separate at night for now. A couple of the McMaos (Ciara and Macushla) were a little hissy at first, but they relaxed pretty quickly.

Cori at the trough.

Let me tell you, I actually pulled all of those kittens off Maggie after a few seconds (before I snapped those pictures up there), because I was afraid she was being overwhelmed, but she gave me a dirty look and then called to the kittens to come to her. Who am I to interfere with her mothering?

Macushla, with Clove snuggled up behind him. Yeah, I’d say he’s adjusted well.

Coriander would like you to know that she’s no fluffhead. She’s got BRAINS in that head of hers, and she knows how to use them!

One day last week I was watching something I’d taped several weeks ago. I can’t for the life of me remember the name of the show, but it had three litters of kittens, and followed them from birth to six weeks (?) old. At one point, there were baby kittens on the screen crying, and Maggie came in, all “WHY ARE BABIES CRYING! BABIES DO NOT CRY ON MY WATCH!”, and sweetness ensued. (Sorry for the length of the video, I do try to keep them to under a minute, but I am no editor!)

That show was Too Cute!: Kittens. I think I still have it on my DVR.

Maggie is awesome. And so svelte after giving birth to all those babies! All that nursing, I guess.

I do love how one of the Girls — Coriander, I guess — is straddling a McMao to get to Maggie in a couple of the photos. Absolutely adorable.

Awww, Bless Maggie!!! What a lovely mom!

“WHY ARE BABIES CRYING! BABIES DO NOT CRY ON MY WATCH!” That really made me laugh to think that, and then I saw her come in and it was TRUE! That was what she was saying! 🙂

While I don’t usually “analyze” the other-than-cat parts of photos, I couldn’t help loving the “Cats are like potato chips” that Maggie almost looks like she is also appreciating! Fun…and true!

I hope that Maggie is very lucky and is adopted with at least one of her babies or her adopted babies. She will always have a close kitty friend, and when the kitten is grown up they will be more like siblings. Maggie is obviously not the sort of Mother Cat who decides after six or seven weeks that “she never made kittens, go away.” Instead, I think she is the type of Mother Cat who will adopt kittens, even when she can no longer feed them.

OMG, that Maggie video is the best. Even when one of the McMaos is nursing and she hears the mewing she’s up and like “Where is it? Where is the hungry baby?”

But JEEZ, you can’t even see her in some of those pictures under all of those kittens. :-

I keep on thinking that Coriander is actually Alice!! They have quite similar, gorgeous coloring, and are both small! 🙂

The best pic of Stinkerbelle ever. As for Maggie — every day in every way, she gets better and better. I’m already preparing myself for her departure; it’s going to be a toughie.

Maggie is such a good mama! And I love that picture of whichever little girl that is laying on top of a McMao to get to her snack!

Poor Maggie, you can just see her mentally checking off a mental list as she licks/nuzzles each kitten. “Nope, this one’s not crying.”
