Aramis is one happy boy (and of course d’Artagnan had to come see what was going on.)
Play time in the kitten room. Winter and Athos leaping at each other at the beginning KILLS me.
The kittens now have the run of the entire upstairs, but still spend the majority of their time in their safe space, the kitten room (this was them today, mid-afternoon). (It always takes kittens a few days to feel totally comfortable with all that added room.)
A challenger to the title! Is Rochefort Da BAYbee? He certainly seems to think so!
spoiler: they never did get that fly. They need to work on their hunting skills.
Rochefort’s trying to dig his way out. It’s a big world, he wants to see it!
Athos is one seriously bouncy boy.
Licka licka licka. Bath time for Constance, Athos and Aramis (with d’Artagnan looking on.)
We’re home again! Winter, Planchet and Aramis came through their spay/neuter surgeries just fine. Planchet and Aramis wanted to eat; Winter’s still a wee bit dopey. That’ll last maybe ’til tomorrow morning, if past experience is anything to go by.
Winter and Athos tussling. DO NOT miss Winter’s awesome series of bouncy-hops around 40 seconds, they are a sight to behold! (Video from yesterday. Winter’s still sleeping off her spay surgery from this morning.)
When I took the kittens for their surgeries this morning, I got to see Alexandra (see earlier post) and also Her Majesty Queen Bunny, who was stomping around Michelle’s house telling every other cat she encountered where they could go . She looks SO good – her fur has grown in nicely, her neck looks great, and except for the slightest bit of petting she wanted nothing to do with me (probably afraid I’d try to saddle her with another litter of kittens.) ❤️
For this week’s ThrowBack Thursday, say hello to fosters #22-#26, from December 2006: Catie and her kittens Cottontail, Flopsy, Mopsy, and Seamus. The kittens were only with us for about 24 hours; they’d been spayed/neutered and were just waiting for room to open up at Petsmart. It opened up quickly, and off they went. Mama Catie was a couple of days behind. I didn’t have much time to get to know them, but as I recall Mama Catie was a sassy little sweetheart.
My laundry assistants are being slackers. Good thing they’re so CUTE.
Continuing down memory lane, here are the Christmas kittens from December 2006, fosters #27-31: Faith, Jack Frost, Kringle, Merry and Noelle. They were about 10 weeks old when we got them and were initially timid and skittish. They warmed up pretty quickly into sweet snugglebugs. They were with us for about 2 weeks before they headed off to Petsmart and were all adopted. (Jack Frost was returned 8 months later due to a move, but was adopted out again to a wonderful home.)
Play time with (okay, NEAR) Uncle Archie! (That teaser is the Da Bird teaser by GoCat. They love it!)
Good night innernets. (Athos) (That bed is a beanbag-type bed made by Shags Wags. Their web site at shags.com appears to no longer be there, and I haven’t found any of these beds anywhere else. Jackson Galaxy has a beanbag-type bed called a Dumpling Bed, which is sold in various places.)
Rochefort’s got something to SAY.
FYI, we have an adoption pending on Planchet! A really nice couple came to meet him yesterday and filled out the application. They’re previous adopters (from another FF foster parent), so I don’t expect it’ll be too long before he’s able to go home. This leaves Athos, Porthos, d’Artagnan and Aramis available for adoption. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire.
I swear I could just sit and watch them play all day long.
They found a silvervine stick and they (especially Rochefort) think it’s AWESOME.
