Yes, Owen’s eyes are open – have been for a few days.
Nolan’s eyes are open a tiny bit (at least that’s the case when I’m writing this – they could POP! the rest of the way open at any moment) and Patsy’s eyes are still firmly closed. Kittens’ eyes generally open between 1 and 2 weeks, though sometimes they wait a bit longer. I suspect we’ll see some eyes on Patsy any time now. I’ll try to get pictures of each of them later today to post the eyeball update.

Sebastian and Margarita atop the tall scratcher.
I barely caught Margarita’s leap – she took me by surprise!
And while she was doing that, Sebastian jumped from one tall scratcher to the other one, and then back again.
And then he took me by surprise when he jumped for the bed! I assure you, he stuck the landing nicely.

In lieu of permanent resident pics, here are a few pictures from my garden!
Only a fraction of the tomatoes we’ve gotten lately. Fred’s eaten so many tomato sandwiches he’s about to turn into one.
Gerbera daisies are still happy. I think this is the longest I’ve ever kept Gerbera daisies alive!
I don’t know what this purply-blue flower is, I didn’t plant it (at least intentionally.) But it’s pretty and the bees like it!
Remember when I said that I overplanted this raised bed and around mid-summer the plants would probably be pretty unhappy? Well, we’re there. It is WILDLY overplanted and only the hardiest plants are still hanging in there.
The sunflowers are happy, though!

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky) yesterday.
Look how much he’s grown! Sebastian in the tiny cowboy hat, then a comparison shot of him in the tiny cowboy hat on May 19th & July 8th, and then finally both pictures (terribly) photoshopped into the same picture. Our boy is so grown up!
Happy Thlurrrpsday, from Lilia and the gang!

Margarita – aka “Little Mouse” – almost exactly two months apart – first in April, and then yesterday. Grown a little bit, hasn’t she? (Margarita is available for adoption; email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire.)
Margarita (left) on May 15th, and (right) on July 9th. I think Mister Frog needs a bigger lap!

Sebastian, then and now: first, May 26th, when he was still unsteady on his feet. And then, yesterday. I think he’s figured out how those feet work!
Happy Thlurrrpsday, from Sebastian & Margarita! (Who are available for adoption; email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire.)

First they’re waiting for Mama to finish eating (Mama needs to eat food to make food!), waiting for Mama to finish her bath (Mama believes in cleanliness!) and waiting for Mama to lie down NOT on top of them. Eventually everyone gets to settle in at the milk bar, and all is well.
Good night innernets. (Nolan (top), Owen (left) and Patsy (right.))

2023: “I am not accepting applications for friends at this moment,” says Alice. “Tell them to check back the 12th of never.”

2013: “Oh. I didn’t know YOU were up there.”

2005: I swear, Oy bounces around so bright-eyed and full of energy that it’s hard to get him to stand still.
🙂 Sebastian and Margarita are just so darn cute. I wonder where there families are?
Also, for those of you who are new (or those who like remembering) check out the 2012 link. It contains the most adorable, “scary” story about Caspian meeting a stranger.
Haha! So fun to revisit this excellent series of STRANGER DANGER floof suits and captions!!
(And see Stinkerbelle…)
The blue flowers look like forget me nots to me.
I was thinking the same. Whatever they are, pretty!
Was just about to post the same – look like for get me nots to me too. The try to spread all over my garden, especially where I would rather they didn’t!
Where did you get the tall cat scratchers in your room, or are they home-made?
So jealous of your tomatoes! Mine won’t be ready for another month!
Those are the Smartcat Ultimate scratching posts – link for reference – with the Smartcat perch attached at the top – link for reference. The perch comes with a pad attached, but it sucks because it’s attached with some flimsy velcro, so I bought a berber carpet sample and attached it with Gorilla glue. Also, the perch tends to slide off – it’s attached with flimsy plastic – so Fred made them permanently attached by screwing them into the top. So they’re not homemade, but they kinda are! 🙂
