Looking at your old posts, you actually have two tributes on this day, one for Natalie and one for Gracie. How unlucky a day this is! So glad there is joy in your home now.
Summer – particularly August – has been a really bad time of year for us losing cats (and dogs); I get especially nervous if any of the cats start acting like they don’t feel well in August!

Does Lilia let the kittens comfort nurse now?
She does! Not often, and not for long, but I definitely see them still nursing.

Patsy in the Fruitasan. Such a CUTIE.
It was Churu time, and while I waited for Patsy and Owen to join us, I put Nolan up on the desk with his mama.
Bet you can’t guess where I was holding the tube of Churu.
I gave them each a little taste, and the tandem thlurrrping has me dead.
Patsy and Owen joined, and it was tongues-out for everyone.
Patsy takes notes on proper thlurrrping technique.
Looks like Nolan (in the back) is done with this nonsense.
Lilia was trying to have some quiet time in the cube, and Nolan was getting sassy.
So she got sassy back at him and he decided he had places to be!

From the garden.
Grasshopper, checking out the view from atop a Zinnia (I think.)
That butterfly matches that orange flower perfectly.
The tiger swallowtail butterflies are loving the butterfly bushes.
Coral fountain amaranth. I got this packet of seeds in Maine a few years ago and decided to go ahead and plant them and see what they look like. Kinda cool… but for some reason I expected them to be more brightly colored than this.
When I went out into the back yard the other evening, there were not one but TWO hummingbird moths on the butterfly bushes!

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky) yesterday.
Happy Thlurrrpsday, from Lilia, Nolan, Owen and Patsy!
Throw Back Thursday: Somehow, it has been 16 years since these wonderful two brothers – Jake and Elwood – were dumped on our property. We came home to find them wandering our side yard, and they immediately became permanent residents. Elwood passed away from FIP in 2012, and Jake was with us until he developed lymphoma in 2023 – he nearly made it to his 14th birthday. They were the BEST. ❤

Throw Back Thursday: from 2023. I went into the room to give Mike (the orphan who joined Kim Wexler and her kittens) his bottle, and the other kittens had learned the joys of the bottle. (Original caption below.)
The kittens left the crate this morning, and now it’s just a free for all. I went in to give Mike his bottle, and Lalo climbed right up into my lap. Except for Ignacio (Nacho, the tuxie who doesn’t have the white stripe on his nose), these kittens are big, big fans of the bottle.
PS: “Slippery lips” is what I call the maneuver where a kitten moves his mouth back and forth on the nipple before latching on. (Also, you can occasionally see Mike – now Milo – on Facebook and Instagram, and their mama Kim Wexler on Instagram!)
Throw Back Thursday: this picture is TEN years old. 2015, my summer of bottle babies, when the Squash Bugs were sure they would starve to death. (I was bottle feeding their sister Ambercup in my lap.) Spoiler: they did not starve to death. From left: Zucchini (Zuke), Calabash and Pattypan.
Throw Back Thursday: 2015 (my summer of bottle babies.) Spitz, from the Swimmers litter, says “Lady, you named me after a swimmer. Why you surprised when I wanna go swimming in my food?” Ah, weaning. Gotta love it!
Throw Back Thursday: From 2021, Sofia Soy Sauce and Theo Pesto when they were still tiny little babieees! (These days you can see them on Facebook along with former fosters Poptart (formerly Poppi) and Biscuit (Moxie) at Team Lavine’s Snack Shack !)
Good night innernets. (Owen & Nolan)
