Louie is all “What doin’, lady?”

Dewey really likes this bed (I’m sure it helps that there’s a heated bed under that blanket.)

A Huey and his green bean.

Louie is such a flirty boy.

Dewey, just hanging out under the pink Adirondack. As you do!

Louie needs a kiss.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OH, that little pink nose!
Crumpet’s all “Yeah. They’re cute.”
I don’t see how that’s comfortable, but she’s the boss.
“And don’t you forget it!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Charlie has some ridiculously tall ears.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.

The Crumbs are named! Pumpernickel and Ciabatta are boys (thus the blue font) and the other three are girls.

Crumpet isn’t in this collage, but I keep forgetting to tell y’all that she’s doing great! She is handling this like a pro. We have no way of knowing whether she’s had kittens before, but I suspect she’s done this all before. She’s okay with me handling them, though I try to weigh and photograph them as quickly as possible; when kittens start yelling mamas tend to get tense.

Foster update! One year ago, we were fostering brother and sister Lincoln (gray and white) and Lilly, and they spent a LOT of time hiding behind the toilet in my bathroom. They were adopted and went to Colorado where they joined big brother Indiana (black and white), and this is how they’re doing now!

Melinda says: “They are all grown and doing so well. Lincoln still hides when others come round unless he’s seen them before. But he really has come so far he even let me pick him up the other night and didn’t resist in fact he nestled his little face into my shoulder and cuddled for a bit. Lillian is in my lap every chance she gets. Indiana is a great big brother and is protective of them. I wake almost every night to all of them cuddled up next to me. Lincoln is my little buddy, Lillian is my pretty pretty princess and Indiana is my heart. Lincoln is 13 pounds now. Lillian is 9.5 pounds.”

(Thanks Melinda!) I love this SO MUCH – they were so scared and timid when we got them, and still so timid when they went home with Melinda. They’ve come a long way, baby! ❤️

Dewey shows off his moves. He is one silly little guy.

This time of year, the cat tree is directly in the morning sun for a while, and (from left) Louie, Huey and Dewey are big fans.

I answer a few questions that have been asked (yes, mama purrs all the time, she kneads ’cause she’s happy, and she prefers that I not touch her paw, thank you.) There’s a whole lotta purring from Crumpet, and then around 1 minute in, I get some hisses from Pita! Action-packed, is what it is.

Good night innernets, from Crumpet and the Crumbs.

    The banner of Daisy and Myrtle is showing for me at the moment at the top of the site, and i just love it SO MUCH. That lick, the kitten arched up right at the end of it, their little eyes on their mama. Such a brilliant photo!

      Oh, isn’t that a great picture? I love it when I’m in the right place at the right time!

    Questions about the Duckling: is their shared medical trauma over? (Poor them and poor you!!!) How long will they be with you, do you think? They truly are ridiculously gorgeous so I have to assume they’ll be adopted as soon as they’re made available.

      They are doing really well – they finished their meds Wednesday and while everything isn’t 100% yet in the litter box (the irony is that the medication that takes care of the parasite that was causing the diarrhea can itself cause diarrhea), I think that the probiotics and vitamins they’re on will ultimately get everything fixed up. In the meantime, they’re all using the litter boxes perfectly (before, they weren’t always making it to the litter box.)

      They will probably be with us another month or so. They’re going to be neutered on March 6th. There has been a HUGE amount of interest in them, so I imagine they’ll go home soon after they’re neutered.

    Question for everyone: 5 out of my 6 cats love the cardboard scratchers. They have the small holiday box kinds and a large infinity one. The 6th cat, a Siamese, sharpens his claws wherever the mood strikes, including the wooden side of the buffet and the top of the sofa. He’s a lost cause. Has anyone had any success switching out to a non cardboard scratcher? If so, what kind? Links would be helpful. I’m just so tired of cleaning up little pieces of cardboard that are scattered everywhere.

      We have had success with the tall (30″ +) carpeted posts. Our cardboard-loving cat loves that tall post even more. He is a very long cat, and will even use the short carpeted post, but he has never picked our furniture.

    I love that Babka and Ciabatta look like twins. The way their black masks are situated, and their matching white collars are soooo adorable!

    I love the foster updates from Melinda.

    Love the image of them cuddled all up together at night.
