In case you missed it on social media Saturday, Lincoln and Lilly have gone to Petsmart. Yes, I know it seems sudden – but they need to be where they’re exposed to people other than just Fred and I, and word from the volunteers is that they’re doing okay. (Thank god for the volunteers – they do such an amazing job with the kitties at Petsmart.)

Lilly and the curvy scratcher.

Lilly and Lincoln in the sun.

And Lilly and Lincoln on the back of the couch.

When there is news I will, of course, let y’all know.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Speaking of Petsmart, remember Brioche, our faker from January who was at Petsmart?
She was adopted and went home Saturday! Her name is now Missy.
(Actually, she wasn’t at Petsmart that whole time – she was at Michelle’s for the past couple of weeks for a break. I don’t think I mentioned that.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Daisy thinks I’m annoying.

I mean, why on earth would she want to give birth? She’s living the life!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last year – mid-June to late July – we fostered a mother, her 4 kittens, her niece, and 4 more add-ins (yes, that’s a total of 10 kittens), all named after characters from the book/show Outlander. (You can read more about the entire litter here.)
One of those kittens was Marsali.
Well, you probably know where I’m going with this trip down memory lane. Over the weekend, due to a life change – no fault of her own – Marsali was returned.
I remembered her as one of the friendlier of the Outlander Clan kittens, and she’s certainly still a VERY friendly girl. She walked around the foster room, sniffed everything, and then climbed into my lap. (Does she remember the foster room? Truly, I do not know. She seemed at home pretty quickly, but that could just be her personality.)
She was renamed when she was adopted, but we’re reverting to her foster name just to make life easier for me.
Along with Marsali came…
Her very scared sister.
We’re calling her Joanie, which isn’t the name she came with, but it starts with the same first letter, and Joanie was Marsali’s sister on the show, so it works.
Marsali was actually adopted last July because Joanie needed a friend, so even though Joanie didn’t come from Forgotten Felines of Huntsville, of course she needed to come with her.
Marsali’s tail is like 63 feet long.
Checking her look in the mirror.
You can’t tell from this picture, but Joanie is about half the size of Marsali.
They were briefly fascinated by the mirrors.
Joanie is hiding a lot, but if I pull her out and start petting her, she purrs and makes biscuits. Both girls are VERY sweet, love being cuddled and petted. They’ve done a little playing, but are mostly checking out the room and sleeping.
Joanie is 2 weeks older than Marsali, which makes them both nearly 1 year old.
So if you’re in the Huntsville, Alabama area (or willing to travel here) and are interested in these girls (it’s too early for me to say whether they’re a bonded pair yet), email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire. They’re not quite ready to go to a new home yet, but will be in a few weeks.
It’s breakfast time for Daisy! (In other words: no kittens yet, and her appetite is still voracious.)
Lincoln and Lilly, judging me. (Their favorite pastime!)
Lincoln and Lilly like it when I toss toys for them. (And yes – there are SO MANY TOYS in the kitten room!)
Good night innernets. (Daisy is probably waiting for me to go to sleep before she births those kittens. Hmph.)
Daisy is unconcerned with my desire for kittens. (I am rethinking my prediction that we’d have kittens this weekend. But it’s only Saturday morning, so we’ve got plenty of time!)
The reflection on the wall over Lincoln’s head (and the expression on his face) makes it look like he suddenly had an idea.
Toes up, y’all. (Daisy)
As of a few hours ago, Lincoln and Lilly are now at Petsmart, located at 6275 University Dr NW, Huntsville, AL. See their descriptions (below) and email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire.
Lincoln and Lilly (DOB 11-16-22) were trapped as part of a Trap-Neuter-Return effort. They were too small to be spayed/neutered and returned, so came to Forgotten Felines of Huntsville.
LINCOLN was very scared when he first entered foster care, but he ultimately decided that people aren’t so bad (especially when they come offering food, treats, or feather teasers.) He’s still a very timid boy, but given enough time and attention, he will relax and show off his purr. Lincoln loves to play, and especially loves feather teasers, spring toys, and ping pong balls. He likes to watch “Cat TV” and is especially fond of the videos that have mice in them. He is a little wary of other cats, but is so curious that after a little while he will approach them to make friends.
LILY was very, very scared when she first entered foster care, but with time she has relaxed into a sweet, playful girl with an instant purr. She loves it when you come bearing food, treats (especially Churu-type treats), and toys. She’s particularly fond of feather teasers, enjoys chasing toys that you throw for her – particularly spring toys and rattly mice (especially if there are feathers attached!) She likes to watch “Cat TV” and loves the videos with birds that flit on and off the screen. She is briefly wary of other cats, but gets over that pretty quickly and wants to be friends.
Lincoln and Lilly are not a bonded pair, but must join homes with a playful cat or kitten in residence OR be adopted with another kitten.
EMAIL Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire.
Remember Brioche, our faker from earlier this year (was it only this year? How is it only March?), who went to Petsmart last month? Well, hooray, hooray, she was adopted and went home today! Happy life, sweet girl! ❤️❤️❤️
Good night innernets. (In case you missed it, Lilly (left) and Lincoln have gone to Petsmart. This picture is from when they were still here with us, obviously.)
Nope. No kittens yet!
That FACE. She’s all “NO, there ain’t no dang kittens in here, LADY, now hush. I’m trying to catch up on my sleep before the blessed event!”
Good night innernets. (Not the greatest pic, because it’s a screen cap of the Nest camera I have in there with her, but you get the point. Daisy in her pie plate, with zero plans of having those kittens EVER.)
