Once upon a time, Fred had a blog. Then he got busy between work and doing stuff around here, and he took it down because he just didn’t have anything to say. This weekend, he started it up again (there are no archives at the moment, but I’m trying to convince him to put some of his old stuff back up). You can see it here, if you’re interested. There’s a distinct lack of kitty pictures over there, though, be warned.

Saturday was 7 years since I got my very first batch of fosters, Mia and her babies. (Those posts start here, if you’re interested in seeing them.)

7 years, 174 fosters as of now. I guess I’d better get moving if I want to hit 200 by the end of the year, huh? (I don’t expect to hit 200 by the end of the year, honestly. But who knows? Three or four good-sized litters could do it!)

I finally called and made the appointment for the Noms to be spayed and neutered. They’re going on June 5th for that, and then they’ll go off to Petsmart when there’s room for them. I’m not sure how adoptions are going, so they might go straight off, or they might be here for a while longer, it’s hard to know.

I don’t expect them to be too terrified – new things scare them, but strangers do not scare them in the slightest (which is good!), so I think they’ll adjust quickly. I mean, not that they’ll be there all that long, because I’m sure they will be adopted just about immediately!

I’m pretty sure that this…

…is Razzie, because Razzie has crinkled whiskers. I could be wrong, though.

This, however, is definitely Razzie. She was watching Fred flick Da Bird around the room.

Maxi pondered that for a moment.

“Go away, boy,” she said. “You’re bothering me.”
“I get no respect,” said Joe Bob.

Heh, I think she might have been in the middle of a head-shake.

I read it as sadness, but did figure it was a headshake moment. Please don’t take my cat lady license away for getting it wrong!

        😉

Yay kitty pictures! Boo that they are eventually going to be adopted (by someone other than me). Unless I can find a way to get to AL. Btw Robyn, how much do they usually cost to be adopted?

The Challenger’s House adoption fee is $150, but right now due to a donation from someone, they’re knocking it down to $125.

Looks like you guys are about to start building something. Adding another room on the house to allow space for more kitties?!?!?!?!?! 😉

I WISH we were building on! 🙂 Fred used that wood to make beds around the fruit trees.

Maxi looks like a mini panther in that second photo. Poor Joe Bob. So misunderstood.

So, what’s the wood for? huh?

I got a bit of a kitten fix this weekend with little Katniss who is at the shelter now with a little white fur ball named Dennis that came in also as a single. Katniss exercised her lungs quite a bit on the drive over to the shelter and has great skills climbing cage doors. She takes after her namesake there.

I don’t think any cats got adopted this weekend so the two big cages are still occupied.

Hopefully adoptions pick up in the next two weeks! On the other hand, I wouldn’t mind keeping these babies for a bit longer. They are NO trouble at all, that’s for sure.

Fred used that wood to make beds around the fruit trees. I WISH it was something more exciting. 🙂

OMC – they are ready to go???? Good luck for quick adoptions.

Love that last picture – it is hard to be tough and scary when your opponent is ignoring you. 🙂

I’ve seriously been meaning to ask you if Fred would consider putting some of his “best of” posts on your blog! (Wait…are we calling it a blog now? Or is it still a journal?) I’m so glad he’s back, but I’d really enjoy reading some of his old stuff again.

I’ve mentioned that to him – I don’t know that he’ll do it, but I’ll keep at him. I’m sure that one day he’ll decide to do it, and act like he came up with the idea all on his own. 🙂

Joe Bob!! You are going about things all wrong! If you want the other kitties to like you, you need to play nice.

I think Jake and Spanky will have to be my loves until you act like more of a gentleman!! Hmmmmph!!

lol.. I was looking at my kitten count and was wondering if I might hit 300 by year end, but like you I don’t think it is going to happen..

The noms grew up so fast, They will all make lovely additions to some very lucky families.
Give them all special Love and Kisses before they leave, and a few extra kisses from me to Newbery.
