Kathleen F, please report to me – mizrobyn (at) gmail.com – so that I can properly thank you for the cat food you sent!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Fred isn’t busy helping me wrangle kittens, sweet-talking Charlie or Alice or Khal or Rocco, or writing songs about the cats (or, oh yeah, doing his day job as a software something-or-other), he writes.
Fred has written a book called “The Fantastic Fart Candy Fiasco.” Yes, that’s really the title, and no, it’s not horror – it’s for kids. It’s funny, smart, a little silly, and full of mystery and mayhem (and some seriously absurd situations). If you’ve got a middle grader (or just a middle-grade sense of humor), it might be right up your alley.
I like it quite a bit – but also I’m married to him, so obviously I’m going to say that. (But it’s true!) Go check it out for yourself – the ebook version here, and the paperback version here – and if you like it (or don’t) or have quibbles about the fact that it’s only available on Amazon, you can take that up with Fred; he has a web site here, you can tell him all about it.
Someone needs to tell these kittens to keep their tongues in their mouths so they don’t dry up.
Owen.
Nolan.
Patsy.
And Patsy.
(I kid. I just happened to get those pictures in one sitting yesterday, but most of the time they don’t lie around with their tongues sticking out.)
Speaking of Patsy, if I had to put my money on one of these kittens turning out to be medium or long hair, it’d be her. The curlicues behind her ears remind me of a baby Carmelita, from 2020.
Carmelita at about 3 months old, for reference:
I could be wrong – I often am – but we’ll see!
Also, regarding Patsy, she seems to be the one who’s always on top of the pile.
Patsy on top, Owen on the left, Nolan on the right.
And Patsy on top, Owen in front and Nolan in the back.
Patsy giving Nolan a hug. Awwww. (Or possibly, trying to push him away from the milk bar.)
Nolan under Lilia’s paw, while Owen and Patsy nurse. (I assure you, you don’t need to worry about Nolan; he continues to be the heaviest of the three by about 30 grams/1 ounce.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Now they get to split one Churu between the two of them, and they’re not sad about that.

Sebastian the rainbow.

Margarita likes all the sparklies on the wall.

“Hello again, lady.”

They’re so CUTE.

Khal loves to hang out on this table on the deck every morning.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky) yesterday.

Forgotten Felines is NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS for Margarita. Read her description below, and email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire.

MARGARITA (DOB 4/3/25; black, female) came to us on May 1st, when she was about a month old. She’d been discovered under someone’s deck, screaming her little head off, with no mother or siblings in sight. She was in particularly rough shape when we got her, and honestly we didn’t feel a lot of hope that she was going to make it. But Margarita is a fighter, and not only did she pull through, she has thrived.

MARGARITA is a super sweet, sassy, cuddly girl who loves to play like a crazy thing – she will run and run, play and jump and climb and chase toys and bunny kick stuffed animals, and just when you think she has an endless supply of energy, she finally settles down. If you’re up for a nap, she LOVES to cuddle up and nap (she really likes to rest her head on your shoulder and purr you both off to sleep), but if you’re busy, that’s fine – she’ll just find a cozy place to curl up and sleep for a few hours. She loves toys with feathers attached, enjoys running after Ping Pong balls, loves rattly toy mice, and the shake of a feather teaser will bring her running. She gets along great with other cats; she has been best friends with her (3 weeks younger) foster brother Sebastian since they were little, and while they’re not necessarily a bonded pair, they have a lot of fun and often cuddle up, and we would love to see them adopted together.

She is scheduled for her spay surgery on July 23rd, and will be ready to go home as early as that weekend.

We are located in the Huntsville (Alabama) area. Out of area adoptions are allowed, but adopters must come here to complete the adoption, as Margarita has a road rage issue and is no longer allowed behind the wheel.

Forgotten Felines is NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS for Sebastian. Read his description below, and email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire.

SEBASTIAN (DOB 4/26/25; classic brown tabby, male) came to us on May 1st; he’d been discovered on a truck of straw at a rural farm supply store, with no mother in sight. At 5 days old he was very underweight and needed to be tube fed and eventually was able to take a bottle. Tiny, underweight bottle babies are very fragile and we worried about whether he would pull through, but he’s done beautifully – and in fact he kept taking a bottle until just a few days ago when he declared that he’s a big boy now and didn’t need a bottle anymore.

When he was old enough, Sebastian joined the other kittens in his foster home, and while they were all several weeks older than him, he held his own. They were great with him and treated him like a little brother, and taught him how to be a proper kitten. Now that he’s a big boy, he can run, play, chase, and jump with the best of them. He particularly likes playing with rattly mice, packing straps, and toys with feathers attached. He loves to drag stuffed animals around and growl at the other kittens if they get too close – he’s not against sharing, it just has to be his idea.

He’s a great, cuddly sleeping companion and likes to flop across you or against you, or really even just near you. He gets along great with other cats; he has been best friends with his (3 weeks older) foster sister Margarita. They’re not necessarily a bonded pair, but they have a lot of fun and often cuddle up, and we would love to see them adopted together.

He is scheduled for his neuter surgery on July 23rd, and will be ready to go home that weekend.

We are located in the Huntsville (Alabama) area. Out of area adoptions are allowed, but adopters must come here to complete the adoption; Sebastian is an unreliable driver, as he still can’t tell his left from his right (he’s working on it, but don’t hold your breath.)

Benji was adopted yesterday, and went to a home that includes former fosters former fosters Obi (formerly Angus; Outlander Clan litter, 2022), Darth, and R2 (formerly Gustavo and Lalo, Los Gatos Hermanos litter, also 2022)! (They’re local, here in the Huntsville (Alabama) area.) Here’s the video of my favorite pictures I took of him while he was with us.

I wonder what Patsy’s dreaming about. #MilkBar

The Gang is working on their walkin’ skills. After spending the morning tripping over his umbilical cord – I’m not joking – Owen decided it would be best to discard it, so ::plink:: off it went. (Owen’s eyes look really bad in this video, but I assure you, it’s the ointment making them look so bad. They’re already looking much better than they did.)

“You need somethin’, lady? We’re trying to nap here.” (Margarita and Sebastian (who are available for adoption; email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info@ffhsv.org to inquire.))

Good night innernets. (Owen (who is behind Lilia’s head) was stomping around and around the crate (as well as a week-old kitten can stomp, anyway), and Lilia was thinking “if this child doesn’t SETTLE DOWN and GO THE HECK TO SLEEP…!” Meanwhile, Nolan (left) and Patsy were out cold.)

    Ok so I took the bait and checked Fred’s web site. The about me section is funny.

    Also, does Nolan’s chin beard / mustache remind anyone of a van dyke style beard or a handle bar mustache? Is it just me?
