Margarita and Sebastian came through their spay/neuter surgeries just fine! As predicted, we were home again by early afternoon. They ate some canned food and nibbled at some kibble, and then they took a long afternoon nap.

(Funny thing is that Sebastian went into the carrier and took his nap there. I guess the experience didn’t sour him on carriers!)

They woke up after a couple of hours, and both of them spent the evening playing like nothing had happened.

“Not sure what happened, not sure I wanna know, lady.”

“Something’s different, but I don’t know what.”

I’m always glad to get spay/neuters done and over with – and I’m sure they’re glad to have it done with, too.

Owen always save a little formula for later.

Another look at Nolan’s belly.

His ears crack me up. He looks like a puppy, with those floppity ears.

Kitten pie! (My favorite!) That’s Owen on the left, Patsy next to him, and Nolan on the right.

And now we have a Mama pie. (Also, you’ll be shocked to hear, my favorite.)

Owen and Nolan have a tussle.

From left: Patsy, Nolan and Owen.

The kittens are pretty much out of the crate – they go back in there occasionally, but just to sniff around and tussle. Most of the time when I walk into the room, they’re curled up on the blanket next to the crate. And as soon as Owen realizes I’m in the room, he heads out in my general direction. Yesterday morning, he ended up at the exact opposite end of the room and then didn’t know what to do. Lilia – who was eating – put some canned food on the floor in front of him, but he’s still a little too young for that and just kept on crying. Finally, she picked him up, carried him across the room, and dropped him next to me. She gave me a look like “Do something with this, would you?” and returned to her food.

I wish I’d managed to catch it on video, but alas.

Today I’m going to put out the little litter boxes and we’ll see if they show any interest in using them. (I know who I suspect will be first in and first to use the litter box, but I’ve been surprised before. So we’ll see!)

A shot of Rocco from the second floor. (This is what’s beneath my office window.)

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky) yesterday.

Margarita and Sebastian are outta here in a bit for their spay/neuter surgeries! I expect we’ll be back by early afternoon, ready for a long nap. (I’ll post when I get home with them.)

Remember 🎉 former fosters Luna (formerly Spiral – white nose) and Cedric (Helix), who we fostered earlier this year? Of course you do! (Also seen: their floofy orange brother Aslan.) Shirley reports “We screened the front porch in and they love going out there to play and bird watch.” They’ve got it good and they know it! 🙂 (Thanks Shirley!)

Tossing balls for Sebastian & Margarita, and it appears that Sebastian has located his jumping skills!

Nolan and Patsy are in my lap, tussling. Owen’s wandering. And Lilia’s keeping an eye on us all.

Lilia’s teaching Owen how to play with the track toy. After, she’ll teach him about the green bean toy!

Good night innernets. (Patsy & Owen)

I got that at Kohl’s (I had some “Kohl’s Cash” to burn, plus a 30% coupon, so I went on their web site and searched on “cat” to see what came up.) I don’t see it on the Kohl’s site any more, but this is it on Amazon. I got it specifically to put in front of that window in the dining room so that Alice could sit there and look out the window. She used it a few times, but hasn’t been near it in months, because OF COURSE. (But at least the kittens enjoy it!)
