In case you missed it, on Friday…

Hazel and Monty were adopted together!

Yes, it happened quickly. I got word Thursday evening that someone local had filled out an application to adopt and had been approved. We made arrangements for them to come meet the kittens Friday morning.

They had originally been thinking about Hazel or Nigel, but the instant they sat down Monty sauntered over and said “THERE you are. I’ve been waiting for you!” and he claimed them as his own. And though they came for just one kitten, they pretty quickly started considering a second. And after some discussion, they decided on Hazel. And off they went!

Monty is now Cosmos, and Hazel is now Dahlia (and I don’t know what it is, but the instant I heard that Hazel’s new name is Dahlia, I thought “That is exactly her name!” It fits her so perfectly.) They’ve joined a family that includes two kitties (Dandelion and Marigold) and a cat-friendly dog (Violet.) They’re settling in and doing great!

This leaves us with Nigel and Matilda still available. Benji is adoption pending (going home in a couple of weeks), and of course Margarita and Sebastian (Forgotten Felines will start taking applications for those two around mid-July. They’re not going for their spay and neuter until July 23rd.)

Today’s post has the rest of the pictures I took that include Hazel and Monty.

Hazel in the floofy pink bed with Benji looking on.

Hazel, Monty, Matilda and Nigel, lined up like the perfect posers they are.

Waiting for breakfast.

Monty certainly hit his big-eared lanky stage!

Hazel’s all “You gonna throw that toy or what, lady?”

I love the perfectly placed tail so that it looks like he’s got a ponytail on top of his head.

Little miss cream puff.

A visit from Uncle Rocco. Note that Benji is a bit floofed here, but just a moment before he’d been rolling around on his back flirting with Rocco (who wanted none of that nonsense.)

Hazel greeting him with her tail up makes me happy.

Monty trying to get a sniff in.

Hazel says “Rowr, I’m a shark!”

One last family picture.

Hazel’s all “JUST GIVE US THE FEATHER TEASER, LADY.”

The other kittens have had no reaction to Monty and Hazel being gone. They watched them leave, after all, so I guess it wasn’t a surprise. They’ve been eating and playing as usual – they’re about to get the run of the rest of the upstairs for a few days, and then we’ll let them have access to the rest of the house and see how it goes. (They’ll go back into the foster room for overnight, as usual.)

So now that Monty and Hazel have found their happy ever after, it’s Nigel and Matilda’s turn. Fingers crossed that that happens sooner rather than later! (And if you’ve been considering one or both of them, email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire.)

Lilia continues to withhold those kittens from us, because she’s just MEAN. (She’s all “That’s right, lady, you’ll get ’em when I’m ready!”)

She is one happy girl.

“Hi! Howyda doin’?”

Fred thinks Lila doesn’t look miserable enough yet. Now that I’ve spent more time with her, I think he might be right. I mean, we’re not going to let this go for too long before I tote her off to the vet, but I think a few more days might do the trick. She’s eating great, she’s using the litter box, and she’s spending lots of time watching the birds out the window and napping in various spots on the floor. She’s checked out the crate a few times – which is normal – but I’m really not seeing anything that makes me think the time is nigh.

(Now that I’ve typed that, I will walk into the room to see kittens tomorrow morning, right? Okay by me!)

As I mentioned in Friday’s post, she showed up as a stray in Huntsville, hung around for a while, and then started to look pregnant. But she is incredibly sweet, loves being petted and held – clearly, at some point in her past someone was kind to her and treated her well. I wish I knew what happened after that.

Milk bar’s about ready, kittens. Come on out! No kittens yet, obviously. I’m thinking it might be a few more days, now that I’ve spent more time with her. But soon!(ish)

Hooray, horay, Hazel and Monty were adopted together today! They are now Dahlia (Hazel) and Cosmos (Monty). (I know some people don’t like renaming kittens, but there’s no way these two knew what their names were – and I think their new names fit them PERFECTLY.) They join a family that includes two kitties, and they will be spoiled ROTTEN. Happy life, sweet babies! ❤️

Lilia’s just chilling – please join me in admiring her many fabulous features.

🎉 Former foster 🎉 Phoenix (2017) is all twisted up like a happy little pretzel. 🥨 Such a CUTIE. (Thanks, Debra!)

8 weeks old tomorrow, and Sebastian still loooves his bottle! (I have to take him into another room to give him his bottle – otherwise the other kittens are all up in his space and it makes him mad.) (This video was taken before Monty and Hazel were adopted and went home this morning.)

Did I kiss Margarita 1,000 times after I took this picture? Yes indeedy.

Good night innernets. (Lilia’s not looking any too motivated to birth those kittens tonight – but we’ll see!)

There’s the belly in all its glory! (No kittens yet, obviously.)

Cosmos (formerly Monty) and Dahlia (formerly Hazel) are doing great! Tabatha reports that they’re eating, using the litter box, and playing. Cosmos is a gentle big brother to Dahlia (sweet boy!) and they’re settling in well. That picture of them side by side with her in the loaf pan is just the SWEETEST. ❤️ (Thanks Tabatha!)

Monty and Hazel were adopted together yesterday! Here’s the video of pictures of them from the time they joined us – May 1st – until the day they went home, June 20th.
Hazel is now Dahlia, and Monty is now Cosmos, names that I think are absolutely perfect for them.

🎉 Former foster 🎉 Meander, dozing in her cave and enjoying the morning sun. She looks so content! ❤️ (Thanks Sharon!)

This is a very short video, because when I tell you Lilia hardly ever stops moving, I am NOT kidding. If she’s not rolling around kneading and purring, she’s jumping up in my lap and rolling around purring. I caught her in a few still seconds. There’s plenty of kitten movement in that belly, check it out!

Benji pie! (My favorite!)

Good night innernets. (Sebastian)

Did you know that Matilda (girl) on the left and Nigel (boy) on the right are still available for adoption? True story! They are both SUPER sweet, snuggly, playful kittens who have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccinations, and are ready to GO. We are located in the Huntsville, Alabama area; out of area adoptions are allowed, but adopters must come here to complete the adoption. (They’re a great pair, but are not bonded and do not have to be adopted together – but there must be a cat or kitten for them to play with in their new home.)

Email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire.

Lilia gets her sploot on. (No kittens yet, obviously.)

Benji has a purrrrrr. (Benji is adoption pending and will go home in a couple of weeks.)

🎉 Former foster🎉 “Meander in repose.” (Thanks, Sharon!)

Just sitting and watching Sebastian (who turned 8 weeks old yesterday) play. It was just a minute ago that he was a tiny boy toddling across the kitchen floor! They grow so fast. (The shaky camera about halfway through the video, followed by the purring in the background was caused by orange tabby Nigel saying “Oh look, there’s an empty lap just for ME!”)

Margarita (nicknames: Madge, Marge, Marge in Charge, Margie Mouse) would like you to know that she can get up on this shelf now, because she ain’t no baby.

🎉 Former fosters🎉 Cosmos (formerly Monty) and Dahlia (Hazel) are doing great! This morning they met the resident dog, Violet. Cosmos was NOT HAVING this dog nonsense, but once he saw that Dahlia had no fear at all (she sat on Violet’s tail for a bit!) he calmed down. Dahlia had some quality time with her favorite blanket, and then it was time for some nappin’. 💤 (Thanks, Tabatha!)

Good night innernets. (Lilia’s motto: Always Be Kneadin’. Her backup motto: No Kittens for You.)
