ATTENTION, PLEASE: Would the following people please report to me ( mizrobyn (at) gmail.com ) ?

You all sent some things from the Amazon wish list, and Amazon doesn’t provide me a way to contact you; I’d like to thank you properly!

(And if you’ve sent something and haven’t received an email from me, please email me and let me know! I might have emailed the wrong person. Wouldn’t be the first time.)

In the end, after all our fretting and long discussions about how to get hold of Beatrice, the first thing we tried worked: we used a trap. Tuesday night, I fed the kittens at bed time, and then removed all the food from the room. Fred set up the trap with the top zip-tied open so that Beatrice (and the kittens) could check it out as much as they wanted overnight. When I got up to feed Sebastian and Clark at 4 am, I went into the foster room first, loaded up all the kittens into a carrier, and put them in my office. Fred put a plate of very stinky cat food in the trap, removed the zip tie, and we left the room.

It took about 10 minutes before we heard the trap close, and we had ourselves a Beatrice.

I wanted to transfer her to a carrier at home, but Fred isn’t working at 100% at the moment – he had his hand operated on last month – and after some discussion we decided to just leave her in the trap and I’d transport her to Michelle’s that way. (Beatrice didn’t have a single thing to say on the drive to Michelle’s, which is about a 40 minute drive. The trap was covered with a couple of towels, which tends to keep cats/kittens quieter.)

When I got to Michelle’s, Michelle and I closed ourselves in the bathroom with the trap and a carrier, and Beatrice didn’t give us any trouble – Michelle placed the carrier against the end of the trap, pulled up the guillotine door, and Beatrice ran from the trap into the carrier.

Honestly, the atmosphere in the foster room feels a whole lot lighter without Beatrice in there hissing and growling at me (I swear she became even more vehement the longer she was here.)

Here are my few Beatrice pictures; as I’ve mentioned she spent most of her time under the doll bed (as in picture #5.)

But occasionally she would be in this wall box when I walked into the room, and I think I got a picture of her every time I saw her there!

Feets.

I set up my phone on a tripod, and left the room with a remote, hoping that I’d get some good pictures of her out and about when I wasn’t in the room. This is the only one that came out. Such a pretty girl.

Hazel joined her mama, and Beatrice was NOT amused.

Beatrice’s favorite spot.

As far as I can tell, the kittens don’t seem to know that Beatrice is gone. They’ve been having a blast… but they had a blast while she was here, too, so who knows what they know?

Matilda on the Fancy Sofa. Oh, that BELLY.

Matilda and Benji in the loaf pan, Margarita looking on, and Nigel yelling at Hazel about something.

It’s a Benji-Margarita belly-up loaf (my favorite!), and you don’t see those every day (or at least you don’t catch it in a picture).

Benji and Matilda, post-dinner.

Wherein Margarita has opinions. How unusual!

Monty’s slipping into a food coma.

I really have to make more of an effort to take pictures of Sebastian (left) and Clark. They’re so CUTE.

I put them in this carrier so I could change out the bedding in their playpen. Sebastian burrowed under the stuffed puppy, and Clark said “Where’d he go?!”

“Sitting in yer front flower bed, keeping an eye on things.” Thanks, Rocco.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky) yesterday.

Beatrice is outta here. I am dropping her off for her spay surgery, and she will recover at Michelle’s house. Then they’ll find a spot for her where she can be outside and live the life she wants. (Of course, if having a house feral is on your list of life dreams, email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire.)

(We used a trap to catch her.)

Look what our friend Lucy made for us! She knew we had Mister Frog and his son Frog Jr. She knew that the little family needed a Baby Frog, and crocheted one for us! Fortunately, Margarita approves. ❤️ (Just as a side note… Lucy also crocheted some toys and a mat, which you can bid on in the Forgotten Felines of Huntsville online auction, which is going on right now!)

Sebastian and Clark in: “It’s eatin’ time!” (That’s Sebastian sleeping at the beginning, and Clark stomping across the floor.)

Matilda comes for a snuggle.

I’m feeling just a little bit judged by Nigel, here.

Good night innernets. (Clark. Sebastian is on the other side of the stuffed puppy.)
