11-26-15 Happy Turkey Day!

Happy Turkey Day to you if you live in the United States – and Happy Thursday if you don’t – from all the turkeys here at Crooked Acres. Today (and always), we are thankful for you, because Love & Hisses readers, commenters, and even you lurkers are the best on the internet!

Turkey Mo.

Stefurkey could barely keep his eyes open.

Turkchie apparently has a future as a hat model, don’t you think?

Stay warm!

Throw Back Thursday: Thanksgiving Day 2009.

“Are you sure they said 11:00? I don’t see anything in there but a roasting pan. Are we too early?”

(That picture was taken back in 2009, the first and last year we ever raised turkeys. I always say that God created chickens and then he said “Huh. I wonder if I could make something dumber than a chicken” and he did.)

2014: Updates on Trader Joe, Von & Winn Dixie, Bitsy Beans, and Orlando!
2013: Adriana’s got places to GO.
2012: If it’s wrong to be so amused by myself, I don’t wanna be right.
2011: Happy Kitteh Video Saturday!
2010: I’m glad we warned her!
2009: “Are you sure they said we were invited to dinner? I don’t see anything in there but a big pot.”
2008: Such a lovebug.
2007: Spot isn’t the slightest bit interested in it, but the other cats LOVE it.
2006: No entry.
2005: No entry.

  1. A very happy, safe, and warm Thanksgiving to you and Fred and all of the Crooked Acres residents! I am very thankful for Love & Hisses and I start each and every day with ya’ll! I laugh, I cry, I think, I smile – Thank you! (and I decorate my fridge with Christmas postcards and tell endless stories to unsuspecting visitors who question the cats on my fridge!!! can’t wait for this year’s! [no pressure]) Have a wonderful day… I’ll see you tomorrow!

  2. Happy Thanksgiving!! Thank you for being the first place I check every morning and always starting my day off with a smile!

    Love today’s hats!!

  3. Thankful to you for making the world a better place for kittehs, big fuzzy dogs, chickens, and the occasional idiot turkeys. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!! 🙂

  4. Happy Thanksgiving to you all. we had our turkey day in Oct. food comas are oh so nice.
that turkey pic gives me chuckles. When i was 19 , my dad decided he wanted to be a farmer, so we got 2 cows and a bunch of turkeys. these animals were so dumb! the cows ran off down the road and ended up at a butcher shop- we laughed when we got that phone call- and the turkeys, well lets just say they were delicious but my dad’s plucking skills left much to be desired,

  5. Looooove todays turkats! Archie really did that hat justice!

I, too, love to start my day here at L&H. It never fails to put a smile on my face and make work just a smidge more bearable. Then I come back in the afternoon to review the comments because the readers often crack me up, too. And in between I check out what’s happening on Facebook. So, I guess as a Canadian on this day, I’m thankful for all that!

    Enjoy your Thanksgiving!

  6. Very thankful for the awesome work you and Fred do, Robyn! L&H is the first thing I check in the morning. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

  7. Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks so much for all your efforts in producing a daily L&H, through sickness, health and getting up all night with bottle babies 😉

It is always a treat to start my day with L&H. And my 4 don’t get jealous at all 🙂

  8. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Loved the photos of the turkats and the photo/caption combo of the turkeys. I must confess I don’t come here first thing in the morning as I check my emails first but I set it up that I get an email from FB about the post so I am here fairly early.

  9. Happy Thanksgiving!! I too am grateful for this site and the community that comes with it!

And I think Stefurkey can’t keep his eyes open because his hat is tied a little too tight and is cutting his air off!

  10. Happy Thanksgiving to Robyn and Fred and the whole Crooked Acres gang !!!!! Hope you have a wonderful day !!!!

I say DITTO to everything everyone has said here today !!! L&H is is wonderful place to visit !!!

I live in Canada so today is a regular Thursday but everyday I am grateful for being able to interact with good people who have genuine good intentions.

  11. Happy Thanksgiving to all the gang at Crooked Acres. I check in second thing in the morning. Feeding my furbabies has to come first. Thank you for the joy you, smiles and giggles you bring to me every day.

  12. Happy Thanksgiving! I am thankful for Love & Hisses, and for friends who love kitties as much as I do! People keep sharing photos of cats in crocheted turkey hats on my Facebook page, and I have to admit, I’m tempted to crochet some. Your turkats are adorable.

  13. I too am thankful for kittehs and turkeys and all the Crooked Acres community, especially Fred and Robyn and you virtual friends here in Internetland. I love to see all the pics and read all the stories. I miss the pigs. Enjoy your day whatever you decide to do or eat. 🙂

  14. Happy Thanksgiving! Love the crochet turkey hats on the cats. Did you do that? The cats look so annoyed, it’s hilarious! Thank you for keeping us updated on fosters, etc.

  15. Happy Thanksgiving! I cannot imagine stuffing the ears of either of my cats into any sort of hat!
