Natalie’s eyes remind me of Mercury’s eyes. Big Ol’ Round Eyes!

Oh definitely!

This is an odd question, but have you ever had someone interested in mom before giving birth? I don’t know why that question popped into my head, but now I’m curious.

I don’t remember anyone being seriously interested in a mama before she’s given birth – and that seems like something that would stick in my mind, so I’m going to say no. (That said… if anyone is seriously interested in adopting Natalie, drop an email to Forgotten Felines at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire!)

I can’t find it now, but I seem to recall someone asking recently about pics of mama cats carrying kittens, and Robyn responding that she didn’t think she’d ever taken any. Well! If you click on the link in today’s “Previously” section for the entry in 2017, the second picture down from the top is mama Mercury carrying one of her then-2-day-old litter back into the crate after Robyn had taken them out briefly (but apparently not briefly enough for Mercury, LOL) for a weigh-in. Enjoy!

I did NOT remember getting that picture! Usually the mamas are moving too fast (and I’m too busy apologizing) to be able to get one. I’m glad at least one exists!

Just curious – is it part of the adoption requirements that adopters promise to provide daily Churu for the lifetime of the adoptee?

It’s not, but that probably ought to be added!

I laughed so hard when I saw this picture. You better believe my hand was just off-camera in case she tipped over. Fortunately, as you can see, she had a pretty solid base going on.

“You can hand over the Churu any time now, lady.”

“ANY. TIME.”

Yes, Chef!

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.

Happy Thlurrrpsday from Natalie, who says “You gimme some Churu, we’ll discuss my birthing these kittens… eventually.”

#TBT: 2015, my summer of bottle babies, when the Squash Bugs were sure they would starve to death. (I was bottle feeding their sister Ambercup in my lap.) Spoiler: they did not starve to death. From left: Zucchini (Zuke), Calabash and Pattypan.

TBT: 2015 (my summer of bottle babies.) Spitz, from the Swimmers litter, says “Lady, you named me after a swimmer. Why you surprised when I wanna go swimming in my food?” Ah, weaning. Gotta love it!

Throw Back Thursday: In 2018 we fostered two pregnant cats – a mother (Kristi; dilute tortie) and daughter Katia (black). Kristi was HUGE when we got her, so I expected she’d give birth first. But of course, just a few days after they came to us Katia gave birth to 4 kittens and then THREE WEEKS LATER Kristi gave birth to 6 kittens of her own. They co-mothered beautifully, and Katia’s kittens were excellent babysitters for their little aunts and uncles (entirely possible they were half-siblings, too!)

Good night innernets. (Natalie likes to be held on her back like the baby she is.)
