Skip’s all “HEY. Is there anyone WORKING today?!”

“What? What’d you say? Kiss your WHAT?”

“Come HERE, I’m gonna give you a knuckle sammich, you little twerp!”

(Skip has been banned from the Fish Market for life. His picture’s over the register and everything!)

Bolt is showing off her teef AND the fact that her bottom lip is half dark, half pink. Dillydally is showing off her toes ’cause she knows it’s Toesday.

“You needs fish and chips?” Bolt wonders.

Dillydally looks good in her pink crown.

Skip jumping onto Meander’s head is cracking me up. You can tell she knows he’s back there.

We have a sleepy pile of cute.

Why sleep in a bed when you have a hard, cold floor upon which to lay your head?

Skitter looks a bit appalled here.

Meander says “Lady, you bothering my children again?”

Say hello to our temporary foster…

Carson!

He is gorgeous, sleek, so VERY chill.

What a good boy.

Carson’s about a year old (Michelle says he’s over a year, the vet aged him at about a year, so we went with 1 year). He’s been with us for about two weeks – he was dumped, had a hurt paw, and was very hungry. Since he was an unneutered male cat and Charlie’s reaction to those is to spray down the house like he’s a fire hose, we were unable to keep Carson in the house until the last few days. He’s been in the garage most of the time since we got him – in the cage at night, and with free reign of the garage during the day (we do not have anything unsafe in the garage; Trixie and Rocco hang out in there all the time, so we’ve made it a safe and comfortable space.) He was neutered last Tuesday, and as those stinky hormones have begun to dissipate, we’ve brought him inside, into the dining room.

He’s been face to face with Charlie, and while Charlie’s reaction is “I HAVE ENOUGH FRIENDS, THANKS,” Carson just flops down, chills, and says “I’ll be here if you change your mind.”

(Charlie will not change his mind.)

Carson is an extremely chill dude who would love to be friends with the other cats – the calmer cats, like Rocco and Khal are happy to hang out with him.

It was initially my intention to post and let y’all know he’s here with us right now, that we’re just waiting until he is able to get his last vaccination in a couple of weeks and for there to be room at Petsmart, but someone saw the post about him on the Forgotten Felines Facebook page, wanted to meet him yesterday, and now Carson is adoption pending! Depending on how long it takes to process the application, Carson may be headed out of here sooner rather than later.

PS: He and Pita have met each other, I will let her into the dining room to hang out with him if she wants to. Pita initially hissed at him a little, then said “Oh, I like this bed on the floor, don’t mind if I do!” and climbed in, curled up, and took a nap. (I have no pictures of that, though.)

Also with us temporarily…

Tala.

She is NOT pregnant.

She does have three 6 day old kittens, though! Not a great picture of them, but there is orange boy kitten named Franc, black boy kitten named Sterling, and black and white girl kitten named Lira. Collectively, they’re The Coins – Betsy J, if you’re still around, you made the theme suggestion a few years ago and I suggested it to Brittany and it worked out! (We were unable to use the name Penny because I think someone else is using it.)

(“Will her kittens be fluffy too?” Maybe!)

They’re just with us for a few more days – once room opens up at Brittany’s, they’ll go to her.

I got them Saturday, and decided to put them in the red crate in the tub in my bathroom because I didn’t want to take my office away from Pita, who likes to hang out in there. I figure that since the kittens are still so small, they didn’t need much room.

Tala is SUCH a love bug – I have to check the camera to make sure the kittens aren’t nursing before I go in to see her, because if they’re nursing when I walk into the room TOO BAD FOR THEM, mama wants her pettings.

All was as it should be – crate in the tub, kittens in the crate – for about 24 hours, and then Tala’s timer went off and she said “Time to move the kittens!” Now they’re behind the toilet, because Lincoln & Lilly and Huey, Dewey and Louie gave that location the highest of marks on MewBNB, I guess. Tala didn’t want a soft blanket for her kittens to sleep on, so you know what? FINE. Keep them on the linoleum floor behind the toilet, Tala. You’re the boss! (My main concern was that they’d get cold, but they’ve been pretty spread out – if they were cold, they’d pile up together.)

“MORE ding dang kittens in my house, you say? I am infused with all the joyful feelings,” says Alice Mo.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.

After waking me at 4 am so that I could fully admire her toy mouse (which she dropped on my face), Pita is now opting to snooze the morning away in the cat tree and cannot be bothered to perform her legally required snoopervising-the-human duties. Little slacker.

One bed, six kittens. I don’t know how much longer they’re gonna all fit there at one time.

From top, right: Skitter. Next to him is Skip. On the far left, with the big round head, is Bolt. In the middle (next to Bolt) is Lollygag. And we all know that on the bottom left with the dark ears is Mosey, and the orange kitten is Dillydally.

The kittens are on the move: places to go, things to do!

The kittens are playing. Remember how like 30 seconds ago they were just little bitty lumps of floof who were still coming to terms with existing? Watch ’em go!

Good night innernets. (Mosey)
