About the Beanie Babies

Dates of birth

Barney & Bitsy: 9/1/12
Baby: 7/10/12

Barney and Bitsy Beans came to us on December 20, 2012. They were dumped by the side of the road, but luckily someone happened to see them being dumped, and they were immediately rescued. They were nervous at first, but quickly blossomed into sweet, snuggly babies who want nothing more to be loved and played with.

Baby Beans came to us a week later, on December 27, 2012. Though he’s almost two months older than Bitsy and Barney, he’s a very small boy. He was brought to a vet’s office by one of their clients at around the age of 7 weeks. He was lethargic and half dead from lack of food. His gums were white, probably from flea anemia. He was nursed back to health and then turned over to Challenger’s House. He was originally named “Babee,” but after his first foster mom found out that he’s a big fan of pork and beans, she added “Beans” to his name. (Which is the reason for the “Beans” name theme for all three of the kittens.) Though he and the other two Beans were pretty hissy and spitty toward each other at first, they’re slowly calming down. I think they’re either going to be the best of friends or mortal enemies, we’re just waiting to see which it is.

All three Beans are already spayed and neutered. Baby Beans is up to date on his vaccinations; Barney and Bitsy have one more vaccination to go through, and then they’ll all be ready to go off for adoptions.

You can read about Bitsy and Barney beginning here and Baby Beans beginning here (there are links at the bottom of each entry; click on the one on the right to take you to the next one).

You can see all the pictures taken of this bunch over at Flickr, here.

Edited to add: All three Beans have been adopted!

I adopted Baby beans Friday night. He is the bravest, smartest little kitten I have ever known 🙂 He follows me everywhere and is getting along very well with my three year old tuxedo cat. I think they will be very good friends for many eyars. Thank you so much for fostering such a sweet boy.
