When the feather teaser comes out, the chattering begins.
Crouton shows off her excellent jumping form. (I love that the teaser is like 3 feet away, but she still has faith that she’s going to be able to grab it.)
Ciabatta jumps! (Pumpernickel’s face in the lower left is killing me. “He’s NEVER gonna get it!”)
Babka launched herself off the couch and made contact! (Please note that three feet are in the air, and that last foot is pushing off from the couch. I love this shot.)
Crouton and Pumpernickel, working as a team. (She is quite a bit smaller than he is, but this picture makes the difference look even bigger than it is.)
And there go Pita and Pumpernickel.

The milk bar is getting more and more crowded. (I have no photographic or video proof, but the kittens are starting to time-share the milk bar. I often see one or two nursing while the others are sleeping.)
Dillydally and Skitter have a snuggle.
Dillydally’s all “HI, Mama!”
And Meander’s all “Hi, kid. Stay in the crate. You’re too little to be wandering around.”
Bolt’s belly is just as soft as it looks. I had to do a quality check, y’know.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
In case you missed it in the blog post this morning, all the Crumbs are now adoption pending! Pita went from no interest to getting several inquiries/applications at once. (Hopefully that will happen for their mother soon.) Pita will be joining a family with two other kitties for her to rule – PLAY with. I mean play with (she’ll be a benevolent dictator.)
The kittens are going for their spay/neuters next Tuesday and will start heading home a few days later (except for Pita, who will be with us until the beginning of June – her people are going out of town.)
In case you missed it in the blog this morning, it turns out that instead of having a litter of all boys, we actually have a litter of 3 boys and 3 girls! (When we initially determined what they were, we were both a little iffy on Dillydally and Lollygag, so to find out that they’re both girls wasn’t that much of a surprise. Bolt was, though!)
A tip for remembering who’s a girl: if they have an “L” in their name, they’re a girl. (That wasn’t intentional, but I like that it worked out like that!) (Also, I didn’t notice this, but commenters pointed it out: the boys all have “S” in their names!)

You wouldn’t expect all 6 of these VERY chonky kittens to fit at the milk bar at the same time, but they make it happen!
MID-AIR COLLISION IN THE KITTEN ROOM involving Babka (top), Crouton (middle) and Ciabatta (bottom.) Since kittens are made of rubber and marshmallow fluff, they’re fine.

Bouncy balls, bouncy kittens. I think they’ve secretly replaced the kittens’ knees with springs. Watch ’em GO!
Dillydally (left) and Skitter have a smooch.
Good night innernets. (Crouton)

Great feather teaser pics today!
Thanks! 🙂
Is Meander better about you being around and touching her babies now? I know how hard it is for you not to love on kittens!!
She’s fine with me touching and handling them as long as they don’t do that panicked scream!
Love your action pics! Every one’s a winner!
So orange Dillydally is a girl? I thought orange cats were usually boys, or is that a myth? They are the cutest and just getting cuter by the day!
Apparently only about 20% of orange tabbies are girls due to some genetic loophole or another. 🙂
I splains! ❤️
So the genes for orange kitties are carried on the X chromosome. A tom, being XY, only has one of those. A queen has to have two to be a ginger girl, which is rarer. Not impossible.
Fun fact – orange and black are two “alleles” of the same “locus”, which is just a fancy geneticist’s term for “a given X chromosome can code for either orange or black”. The tortie/calico/torbie colorations are XoXb – one X chrmosome has orange and the other one black. This is why this coloration is almost exclusively female – it takes two X chromosomes to pull off, so a boy tortie is the genetic anomaly XXY and is most likely sterile.
Thank you
I’d no idea till recently about this, never was all that good at science but it holds a lot of explanations.
Have we confirmed if mosey is a siamese?
I don’t know how we’d confirm that aside from paying $100 for a DNA test – I think we can assume he is.
Just wanted to join in the hurrahs for your pictures of the jumping Crumbs. Mid-air collision is my favorite!
Kitten ballet
Absolutely
The best
How is crumpet? What happens if she doesn’t get adopted from PetSmart?
Fine & she’ll eventually get a break (probably at Michelle’s) for a while before going back.
