Reverb’s got his eyes on the prize (the feather teaser.)
Reese jumped up on the desk to snoopervise what I was doing, and Whiskey snoopervised to be sure he wasn’t missing out on any Churu.

Another day, another Fizz pie (my favorite!) lookin’ for trouble.
I dropped the roll of paper towels, and Rum came stomping over to sit there. I waited a few minutes to see if he’d Rumdangle over the roll, but he opted to do a little shredding, so I took the roll away from him because I am the MEANEST.
Fizz and Whiskey are adoption pending – together! The adopter will come meet them next week and if all goes well, they’ll go home the beginning of February. This leaves Reese still available, and hopefully her people will come along soon.
Rum and Reverb are 17 days (Reverb) and 21 days (Rum) into the 84 day treatment for FIP. They’ll be with Forgotten Felines until treatment is ended – I guess someone could apply now to adopt one or both of them if they wanted to wait, but I’m not holding my breath. (Or I suppose if someone wanted to adopt them now and continue the treatment, that might be a possibility if they were local, but again – not holding my breath.)
Both Rum and Reverb have improved since treatment began – Reverb is still ever so slightly snotty (and he’s on meds for that) but his formerly gigantic belly (a sign of wet FIP) is now normal-sized, he’s moving around comfortably, he’s eating great, and while I haven’t seen him playing, he does like to watch the other kittens play. Being so sick with the upper respiratory infection really took it out of him, so he’s not going to just snap back from being so sick to being an average kitten. It’s going to take time. I’m pleased with how he’s doing.
Rum is also doing well; I’ve noticed that he’ll have one “normal” playful, kitten-y day, followed by a few days where he mostly watches the others play and just wants to sit in my lap and be petted. 3 weeks into treatment, he’s definitely more “there” than he was at the beginning of treatment, and his good days are quite good. He’s only 1/4 of the way through treatment, so there’ll be more improvement ahead, I’m sure.

🎉 Look who it is! Former fosters Maverick (formerly Tango) and Carmelita (Sashay) and their big brother Ezra (who is not a former foster, but we love him anyway)!
Mike says: Now that Carmelita and Maverick have been little Smoky Mountain babies for over a month, I thought you’d like to see how they’re doing. The answer is quite well. They have become good friends with their big brother Ezra, and I see Carmelita snuggling with him sometimes. Maverick has emerged as the speaker of the house, especially when he wants to be fed, but overall they’re a pretty quiet little trio. I don’t know if it’s because they’ve all adopted my night owl schedule, but some of the peak play hours are between about 1 and 3 am. That’s when I see and hear a dozen little paws running around. For as tiny as she is, Carmelita is a climber and a jumper. Maverick has visibly grown, but his sister is still tiny — although she still roughhouses with the boys. (I am not the slightest bit surprised that her size doesn’t hold her back at ALL!)

The kittens are wearing their crazypants today – I’m not sure why Rum’s tail is floofed, but it certainly was. (Reverb isn’t in this video because he was snoozing quietly next to me.)
