Okay thank you to whoever suggested the kitten in the Adirondack chair. I went on and ordered that calendar immediately. So in all your SPARE time, could we have a mother/kitten calendar and a kittens in the fruitisan with of course the four kittens sleeping in the chair would be the cover? I know, I know, its a lot to ask. But I’m just putting it out there in the universe.
and
Have you thought about doing a calendar of kittens wearing their floof suits? Just an idea. The Sydney pic would be a perfect one for October.
The 2026 calendars are locked (in that I’m not sorting through any more pictures this year), but I’ll keep those ideas in mind for next year!

Is it possible that the boys are actually identical twins? Is that a thing that happens? Love all the cuteness either way!
According to Cats.com, it is in fact possible for cats to have identical twins!

I can’t tell them apart either, so I just mentally refer to them as Mango (Mambo + Tango = Mango!)
The NUMBER of times I’ve caught myself typing “Mango” instead of “Tango” or “Mambo” – it’s at LEAST once a day, very often more!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Do you think Tango’s pretty blue eyes won’t change?
They’re not quite as blue as they appear in photos, and are changing – but I’m wondering if they’ll be a blue-green when all is said and done. The interesting thing is that Tango’s eyes are much bluer than Mambo’s right now, and that’s one of the ways I’m able to tell them apart these days.
That Sydney series from 2024 remains one of the funniest series of photos and captions to ever exist. In the history of the world. Nothing anyone could say would convince me otherwise.
I agree, I love it too – she was SO APPALLED at the utter nerve of Uncle Charlie!
If you follow Love & Hisses on social media – Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky – my apologies for blowing up your timeline. Like I did last year, every hour – starting this morning at 12:01 Central Time – I’m posting/have posted a Halloween picture of a kitten in costume/hat or otherwise Halloween-ish looking. There are some old favorites as well as some new ones, so I hope y’all enjoy.
If you don’t do social media, don’t worry – you’ll see everything in Monday’s post!
The kittens found the organizing crates the other day – I’d just piled them in the litter closet, out of the way.
They were having a lot of fun climbing in and out, so I figured it was time.
I lined them up by size (from left: Sashay, Flamenco, Mambo & Tango). You can see the final picture in the social media section below.
Tango says “I like being organized!”
Later, Tango showed Mambo his Ears of Annoyance.
And then he gave him a warning meow! But then Mama came to see what was going on and broke it up before it could turn into a fight.
Recently, Teresa offered me this set of felt Halloween buckets. And because I’m an optimist, I thought “Ooh, perfect! I can line them up and put a kitten in each one!”
It didn’t quite work out like that.
They were cheerful enough about being stuffed into the buckets, but the buckets are lightweight – as I mentioned – and the kittens are less so, at least compared to the buckets.
Mambo looking skeptical, Flamenco giving him a pep talk.
Tango and Flamenco posing pretty well.
But Flamenco started leaning, and Tango was like “I’ve got you!”
Later, I hung up a Halloween blanket and tried to get the kittens to line up.
And ChaCha was all “Okay, lady. That’s enough.”
Yes ma’am!
The hummingbirds have moved on (just a few days after Esmeralda went home, coincidentally!), so I took down the hummingbird feeders that were hanging on my office window.
The regular feeder is still there, though, and it’s getting some action.
Bluebird (who looks like he’s molting.)
Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky) yesterday.
Happy Thlurrrpsday, from ChaCha.
Kitten organization is underway! With this litter, we’ll organize them by size, from smallest to biggest. From left: Sashay, Flamenco, Mambo & Tango.
In hopes of convincing ChaCha to open the milk bar, Sashay and Tango give her a very sweet bath. (Didn’t work, though – never does!)
Flamenco is such the quiet observer of this bunch.
Mambo’s wearing his crazypants today!
Flamenco’s keepin’ mama clean.
Tango (left) and Mambo are keeping their eyes on the feather teaser I’m waving over their heads. They’re not comfortable jumping for it just yet… but I suspect it won’t be long!
Good night innernets. (Tango & Mister Frog, Frog Junior, and Baby Frog.)
