The Peppers are now out in the house 24 hours a day, I don’t remember if I mentioned that. The first couple of nights were a little rough, because they were very excited about jumping on my feet if I moved them, or smacking at my eyelashes, or any number of other things that disrupted my sleep (I do not like having my sleep disrupted, thank you very much). I used the can of compressed air to teach them what was and wasn’t acceptable behavior, and now they’ll snuggle up against me and sleep, but don’t wake me up or attack my feet.

As soon as they hear me wake up and roll over in the morning, though, they’re all crawling on me, purring, and asking for love. The girls, especially, love to have their morning pettings, and would probably lay there all day and let me pet them. They’re such sweet monkeys, those Peppers.

I like how you can see the difference in their eye colors.

This basket is always occupied. Sugarbutt has taken over for the time being. If he’s not in it, Corbie is, or Newt, or sometimes even Jake or Elwood. They love the basket, is what I’m saying.

2009: It’s absolutely stunning what separating a couple of skittish kittens will do to their personality.
2008: And then Joe Bob wasn’t even interested in going outside.
2007: We call him Popeye when he does this.

  1. Awwww, the Peppers are just the loveliest kitts, and that third yawning pic of Everett just cracks me up. He’s all teeth and nothing else because he’s so jet black.

Now correct me if I’m wrong, but I think there might be room in the house for that little wonky-eyed Miss Lucy to move in as a permanent resident…..? Oh go on Robyn! What’s just one more? πŸ™‚

      • Just Lucy? I’m voting for all three sweet Peppers. Re Sugarbutt, I love pics of kitties with one eye closed and the other heading in the same direction — so raffish!

        • Hehehe, I’m biased by Lucy because I love her skewed eyes, and she sounds incredibly shy and sweet. Of course, I’d love all the Peppers to become permanent residents, but if I had to choose just one….. πŸ˜‰

  2. That last picture of Everett yawning is creepy! He’s nothing but teeth!
I love Lucy (lol!) and would snap her up in a heart beat. We’re already planning to get a little black cat, and she’s just adorable. I fall in love with one cat per litter it seems. I dont think I’d be able to foster, because I’d end up keeping every kitten!

  3. A bit off topic but I think there is another from the cat blog world that could use some encouragement. Not sure if very many folks check her blog anymore, she took a break for awhile. The Crazy Cat Lady is going through some hard times right now. http://kittykye.blogspot.com/

  4. Yawning Everett with the white whiskers pointing up, almost looking like slitted eyes looks like the spawn of pure evil! I think I’m afraid.. but I love the pictures! Lucy’s all, “Yeah yeah, spawn of pure evil, whatever. Close your mouth tuna breath.” And Sally’s all, “Why do you think I’m all the way across the room? Duh.”
Hey Sugarbutt, can we hear an ARRRR! MOL
